🩷💛💚 EXCITING NEWS 🩷💛💚 Due to popular requests, we are extending our offer to families self educating at home. Our bespoke sessions are still available but now please take a look at the selection of fun groups we also have. All sessions are quality assured and taught by experienced and qualified educators (teachers and TAs). Sessions follow our small group ethos and have limited availability so please get in touch asap to secure a place. Due to our flexible nature and adaptability for personalised curriculums age ranges are a guide only. The English and maths groups follow national curriculum standards and we work up to A level as well as Functional Skills Entry 1-Level 2 (Grade 4 equivalent). If you require information for EHCP/EOTIS budgets please get in touch as available programmes can vary. We are really looking forward to welcoming new families to the New Ways team - if there is a group you are interested in that’s not listed please let us know and we will do it best to get it going. All our ‘workaversaries’ are special - reflecting on these two from the early New Ways days demonstrates just how special we are 🩷💛💚

Back in 2021 when it became clear that supporting young people to learn was something that could no longer happen with my home as a base, New Ways was born. The need was so vast and overwhelming and too much for one person to manage - admin and service management was getting in the way of reaching the learners! 4 years ago, Louise became the business manager of New Ways and worked hard to make sure all of our policies, procedures, systems and overall management reflected (and went above!) the high standards set by authorities. Still today, we are told we go ‘above and beyond’ expectation and are spoken so highly of by the parents, LAs and schools we work with. Louise keeps the cogs turning and always has a calming ‘we can do it, it will work!’ when things get stressy! Thank you so much, Louise - New Ways would not be the fabulous support service to so many without you! 🩷💛💚

…..and as word spread, we received more referrals…too many learners needing a different kind of teaching for me to work with alone. A well timed email from Jo granted my wishes and we were soon a specialist teaching team of two! Amazingly, Jo had the exact same ethos, approach and dream to me - teaching learners in a way that works for them so they can feel safe and happy in their learning! 3 years later and Jo continues to work inspiringly with learners across the key stages - her ‘let’s give it a go’ approach and on the spot initiative means even the most unplanned occurrences and last minute changes go smoothly! Thank you Jo for bringing the New Ways magic to so many 🩷💛💚

What can you see here in this colourful activity completed by one of our learners? Our focus was practising spelling the tricky word ‘who’ but this multisensory activity packed in lots more learning opportunities too. Reinforcing pencil grip and control, tracking left to right to locate the letters in the right order, and boosting focus and concentration to name just a few. Our learner then set their own challenge for someone else to complete and made their own loop the loop activity to practise the spelling of ‘why’. A ‘New Way’ to practise spelling but one that took off the pressure of just writing with a pencil and paper. 🩷💛💚

Natalie runs our STEM group sessions as well being a maths and science specialist, working with some of our older learners.
