🌳 NATURAL WONDER IS COMING TO WOKINGHAM THIS AUTUMN… 🌳

We’re thrilled to announce that this Autumn, Natural Wonder is opening our new 3-acre woodland setting in Wokingham - ready for muddy boots, wild imaginations, and a whole lot of wonder!🍂🌳

Since we began in 2021, Natural Wonder has been home to a joyful, child-led forest school for home-educated children. A place where childhood is slower and more joyful. Where play and curiosity lead the way. Where children climb trees, light campfires, create, build, question, make friends and discover who they are.

Our new woodland offers a supportive space where children explore, play, and thrive together. From hands-on projects and outdoor skills, to unhurried play around the campfire, every day is an adventure with fresh air, inspiring mentors, and a community of families who believe childhood should be filled with wonder. 🔥🪵

We're excited to announce the launch of Spark by Natural Wonder — a brand-new learning experience for home-educated children aged 9–13, launching Autumn 2026.

For our existing Natural Wonder families — nothing is changing for you. Spark is a new option, not a replacement, and it's there when the time is right and your child is ready.

Many of you already know us for our forest school for younger children. For the past 5 years, we've watched our children grow up in the Natural Wonder woods — muddier, more confident, more joyful, but as children grow, their curiosity doesn't slow down—it ignites. 🌿✨

As children get older, they become ready to dive deeper, ask bigger questions, and explore new horizons — but provision that's genuinely built around home educating values, for this age group, is still rare.

That's why we created Spark!

Spark is an educational experience for ages 9–13, set in our Bracknell woodland. It's uniquely designed to bridge structured learning, child-led freedom and the values of home educating by bringing Key Stage 2 & 3 concepts to life in a way that fuels joy and learning.

Running three days a week in our Bracknell woods, here's what makes Spark different:

- Structured mornings — led by inspiring educators and real-world experts, introducing children to ideas and concepts they might never come across on their own

- Interest-led afternoons — Space and time to follow a personal passion, a project, or engage in deep, immersive play.

- Key Stage 2 & 3, woven in — the curriculum is a guide, not a target, so children stay curious rather than boxed in

- Outdoors & Community — grounded in kindness, creativity and connection with nature

It's a small group by design — just 8 places — so every young person gets the attention, support, and community they need to thrive.

This week at Natural Wonder... the came again and provided plenty of opportunities for (and bathing in some cases!) and ! Luckily, we have a sheltered area where we were able to get a going so that everyone was able to get warm and dry afterwards! We also acknowledged with some making. The children had a go at some , made , played in the , and spent time and playing in the mud pile! There was plenty of and wide in the woodland. We cooked and on the fire for our this week.

Next week, is coming as we move onto our Victorian Christmas theme for the final 4 weeks of term! This will culminate in a little for family and friends, where the children can show off their creations and share food and drink before we close for the season! 🌲🎄

This week at Natural Wonder... 🔥 was our focus this week! The children got to practice their skills, with various sizes and types of - we made by crushing walnuts to release their oil and lighting them, gathered different sized from our and tried different ways of laying them, and used our firelighting to make mini-fires with cotton wool as . We also had a through the woodland with and tried cooking over the fire before adding some colour to the flames! In addition, there were , and , amongst many other things!

We look forward to seeing all our children again this coming week for some more fun in the forest! 🔥🍂🍁🌲

This week at Natural Wonder... there was lots going on! featured strongly this week with , nails and hammers to make creations and tools used to create sparklers! There was plenty of and the children produced some lovely seasonal creations! The children enjoyed playing group games, including Bat and Moth using a and the ever popular ! We had a model zoo creation and plenty of making in the mud kitchen! We look forward to seeing everyone next week for some fun! 🌳🎃🕸

This week at Natural Wonder... our theme continued with activities related to our ! The children were particularly creative with all their this week, producing some lovely pieces! There was also , play, and . Snacks cooked over the this week included and !

This week at Natural Wonder... we continued with activities on our theme of the . There was also a big demand for this week, which saw different types of , , , and nails being used to create, amongst other things, a new table for our as well as the children designed for themselves! There was plenty of , , hunting, and play. For snacks, we made to cook over the and created gingerbread versions of ourselves! We hope all the children had a lovely time this week and look forward to seeing everyone back again next week!🌳🍂🔥

This week at Natural Wonder... we continued undertaking activities around our theme of the , alongside our usual forest school offerings. Our tools came out this week, now that it is getting cooler, and as well as practising our skills, we cooked our afternoon snacks over the fire. Our older group organised some of their own games and activities this week, and created their own prizes and participation certificates, too, showing wonderful and . Some of our younger ones spent time hunting and found several as well as a ! We look forward to seeing everyone back again in the woodlands for more fun and exploration next week! 🌳🍂🍄🐸🔥
