ock potential and spark enthusiasm for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) through the excitement of motorsport. Teams of students aged 9 to 25 from across the globe compete at Greenpower events in the UK, and other countries including USA, Poland and China. The annual International Final takes place at the UK’s Rockingham Motor Speedway.

We’re looking forward to welcoming teams from across the region as young people put their engineering, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to the test on the track. After months of designing, building, and refining their electric cars, race day is where all their hard work comes together.
 
We’re grateful for the support that helps make opportunities like this possible.

🎙️ The Engineer’s Journey | Episode 1

To mark GCSE Results Day, we’re launching a brand-new Greenpower series celebrating the different routes into engineering, because there’s no single path to a career in engineering⚡️

First up is David Cullimore, a former Greenpower team founder 🏎️ and graduate 🎓whose career has taken him from building his own Greenpower car to some pretty impressive engineering roles, including Systems Designer at Red Bull, Design Engineer at Prodrive and Product Manager at Dyson⚙️

In this episode, David shares his journey into engineering, the twists and turns along the way, and why your route into a career doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s!

So, if you’ve just received your GCSE or A-Level results and you’re thinking about what comes next, remember: there’s no single route into engineering⭐️

With the solar eclipse happening, we want to make sure you’re able to enjoy it safely!

☀️ Never look directly at the Sun, even during an eclipse.

🕶️ Use properly certified solar eclipse glasses — regular sunglasses aren’t enough!

🔭 If you’re using a telescope, binoculars or a camera, make sure you’re using the correct solar filter.

📽️You can also use indirect viewing methods, like a pinhole projector, to watch the eclipse without looking directly at the Sun.

Stay safe, look up (safely!) and enjoy the show 🌞🌒

Formula Goblin takes centre stage on BBC Newsround! 🎥

We’re thrilled to have shared the excitement of Greenpower with BBC Newsround, showcasing the creativity, teamwork and engineering skills of our youngest racers 🏎️

As one of our young engineers said: “We think that’s the job we could do because we’ve had experience doing it.” 💚

They might not be hunting for actual Goblins 🧌, but they are building electric cars and developing the confidence to imagine their future careers ⚡️
