What a day!! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their first day back. It was great to see everyone again.

We can't wait to see everyone again on Tuesday and especially our new P1's. Thank you to Mary from the PTA for setting up a fabulous balloon arch as a special treat. Carol is also ready to welcome everyone back to Breakfast club from 8am and at the 2-3 club.

Temporary Building Supervisor Required

LOUGHGIEL ✨✨✨ (for children going into 1st year)

Thanks to funding kindly given by and secured by , I can support your children as they begin their new adventure in secondary school - free of charge!

Is your baby starting 'big school' this year? I'm sure you're wondering where those years have gone to 🥰
Are they excited/nervous/worried - a mixture of everything maybe?! I have created a workshop specifically for children transitioning from P7 into 1st year, to help them understand exactly what's ahead of them and how to handle any setbacks or nerves, and how to focus on the good ☺️

This will be a space to have fun, relax and learn invaluable tools to take with them into 1st year, surrounded by peers who are on the same boat 🥰

We'll be making some gorgeous props to take home & use to calm their bodies and minds ✨

Spaces are very limited for these workshops to ensure each child gets the time & love they deserve, so be sure to book your space ASAP ☺️

As always, I will be sending out a supporting video to all parents with lots of information about transition & school based anxiety and how parents can implement what the kids did with me, to help you at home 🩷

Today we also said a fond farewell to Carly, Mr Killough and Miss Watt. We wish them every success in their new jobs. Each of them has made a truly special contribution to school life and they will be greatly missed by staff and pupils alike. We thank them sincerely for all they have given and wish them every happiness and success for the future.

As you all know Miss McVeigh will be retiring in August after 26 years in St Olcan's. While we will miss her greatly, we are happy that she will now have time to enjoy the next chapter—one that we hope is filled with relaxation, new adventures, and time to do all the things you perhaps didn’t always have time for before.
On behalf of the staff, pupils and the wider school community—thank you. Thank you for your years of service, your compassion, your professionalism, and for being such an important part of this school’s story. We wish you good health, happiness, and every blessing in your retirement.
