We are delighted to let you all know that our amazing Playgroup Leader, Stephanie, and her brother-in-law, Tyrone, have both had their operations and are now at home recovering well.
Most of you will know that Tyrone was diagnosed with a genetic kidney condition in August last year which affected the performance of both of his kidneys. After his diagnosis, Tyrone was given dialysis in Daisy Hill hospital three times a week, and was put on the kidney transplant list. His family members, including Stephanie, were tested to see if they could donate, but unfortunately they weren’t a suitable match. To allow Tyrone to receive a kidney, Stephanie selflessly entered into a ‘Kidney Donor Pool.’ This pool of donors allowed Stephanie to donate her kidney to an unknown recipient. This in turn allowed Tyrone to receive a kidney from another donor in the pool. Both of their operations took place in the Belfast City Hospital last week and both Tyrone and Stephanie are now at home recovering well.
Our Rainbow Stop community have for a long time known what an amazing leader, colleague and friend Stephanie is. She works tirelessly for our school to make sure that every single child who comes through the doors receives the very best start to their education.
But wow!!! What an incredible, selfless act which has shown us all once again what an amazing person Stephanie is and how lucky we are to have her leading our Playgroup.
We are so proud of you Stephanie. Both you and Tyrone are simply amazing and we wish you both all the very best in your recovery.
We can’t wait to have you back in RS in the New Year and we have no doubt that there will be 24 little people very excited to see you.
