Thank you Drumhillery Primary School for inviting me to take part in your wonderful final assembly. Fantastic afternoon with some amazing singing. Congratulations to all of the prize winners and good luck to the P7s who will be moving on to their secondary schools. We can’t wait to welcome some of your talented P7s to City of Armagh High School in September.
A group of GCSE art and TD students visited Ulster University today. They had the opportunity to visit the degree show exhibitions for a range of subjects within the creative sector.
It was great to see the foundation year work, photography, game design, product design, illustration, architecture, fashion and textiles (the lecturer being a past pupil of City of Armagh High School 😁) and many more courses. It's great to see how accessible these courses are and we hope our pupils were inspired!
It was also a joy to meet with one of our past pupils who has just completed a BA in printed textiles and was exhibiting. It's lovely to see our students thrive. 😀
We look forward to welcoming our new year 8 2024 intake.
Come and join us for a BBQ on Tuesday 25th @ 6.30pm

We need final numbers by tomorrow.
Thank you 😊
‘May Movers’ Step Challenge Winners!
Throughout the month of May the Education Authority ran a step challenge, to coincide with National Walking Month. The aim being to get everyone moving more. Over 600 people took part in teams of 4 with everyone logging their steps on a daily basis. We were delighted that City of Armagh High School’s team was declared the winner. Today Aiofe O’Neill from the EA came into school to present the team members with their goodie bags.
Well done to Ms McGlone , Mrs Black, Ms Uddin and Ms Abraham for completing the challenge and an amazing 2,546,340 steps.
A special mention to Mrs Black, the team captain who had the unenviable task of counting the steps each week.
Kindness counts. 🧡
It was great to visit our year 11s on their work experience last week. A huge thank you to all the companies for supporting our pupils and giving them on the job experience. We really appreciate it.
On Saturday 1st June, Armagh City Football Club held their annual Youth Awards. Amongst the winners were 4 of our girls! Bring on next season at COAHS 💪🏻⚽️🥅
Lovely to see parents, friends, family and staff at our GCSE Art Exhibition today. Thanks to all those who came to see the creativity of our year 12s, they worked hard and have created some lovely work throughout their GCSE course. 👏 And many thanks to our year 10s who helped with set up and set down, all these unnoticed and important jobs - much appreciated.
We managed to get a few photos (Not many! We were too busy talking and enjoying the exhibition! 😊)
Well done everyone.
Lovely to see the medal in form group this morning. 👏
Well done to our year 10 pupil Ellie-Mae Turner and her team who flew to Barcelona to compete in the Barcelona Girls Cup. The team won their group stages and were unbeaten up to that time with no goals conceded. They won at quarter finals 4-0. After a hard fought semi-final it ended up 0-0, unfortunately, they lost out on penalties. We are very proud of Ellie-Mae, what an experience.
Any remaining consent forms for the Art/TD Trip need to be returned ASAP.
😃
Thank You.

More Sports Day :)
Sports Day 2024
In a packed programme of events on Sports Day, our athletes ran, threw and jumped to gain as many points as possible for their House.
In the all-inclusive sports day, the morning started with the LSC/ASC track races. There were impressive performances from Cody, Hannah Jane and Dafydd on the track.
The athletes who earned the most points for their house were Evelyn Don and Kacper Rumbach in year 8. The year 9 winners were Harry Thompson and district champion Phoebe Clarke who was pushed all the way by Poppie Hutton.
The year 10 was dominated by the talented Ellie Mae Turner, whilst the boys was a much closer affair. Praise Njike just edged out Alex George finish top.
In year 11 Hollie Chambers topped the points, helped by another great jump in the long jump. In the boys Section Theo Hutton was the winner, earning top points in the 100m, 200m, Shot Put and high jump. Other notable performances were from Sophie Morrow and Marcus Armstrong
Although the sun only made a brief appearance, ice cream was enjoyed my many and face painting was as popular as ever. Sports day ended with a 3 legged race and Mrs Creighton and Ms Uddin were the winners for Macha.
When all results were in and points tallied, the winning House was Daire. Well done to all involved and a shout out to Miss Abraham and Mr Wilson for all their organisation to make the day one of the best :)
May Madness Challenge
Throughout the month of May, 28 members of staff undertook an Inter House step challenge. Many staff could be seen before school, during lunch and after school pounding the pavements as the competition heated up! When all the steps were counted, Niall was the winner, closely followed by Daire then Macha and Conor . Mrs Black was the brainchild of the challenge and all staff really ‘stepped up’ An incredible 13,830,572 steps were taken in the month of May. That’s approximately 5700 miles. The equivalent of walking to Darkest Peru!
Our team photographs have been taken and will soon be on display in the sports hall corridor. If you are interested in purchasing a photograph, please speak to Miss Abraham for details.
Looking forward to seeing a great turn out for Year 11 teaching sessions tomorrow! 🥳
