Wellness Day in Nursery!
For Wellness Day, our little learners explored the calming and sensory benefits of homemade lavender-scented playdough. They had a blast squishing, rolling, and shaping the dough—engaging their senses while promoting relaxation, focus, and fine motor skills. The soothing scent of lavender added an extra touch of calm to our playtime!
During Circle Time, we sang songs, shared with our special "talking tool," and played a fun game of Pass the Pompom—practicing teamwork, focus, and patience as we worked together to keep it from dropping! Their smiles and excitement made the day even more special.
For Wellness Day, P6 created the cutest rice bunnies! They filled a sock with rice, added a drop of essential oil, and then decorated their wee friend. The class enjoyed the sensory aspect of squeezing the rice but also the lovely scent which helped us remember to control our breathing.
We also absolutely loved toasting marshmallows in Leafy Hollow too…I mean, look at the perfect golden brown! What a great day reflecting on our emotions, focusing being present and learning how to support our mental health. ❤️
Thank you to everyone who donated clothes for our Eco-Council’s Cash 4 Clobber collection! 💰
Well done to all 32 children that represented the school at the Road Race in Armagh City last week. We had several children who finished in the top 15 in their races, which was amazing considering there were over 100 children in nearly every race. A special congratulations to Lucy Dougan in P2 who achieved the best place overall, finishing an unbelievable 6th in her race 👏 👏 👏
