❤️ February Half Term Holiday Camps – Love to Play ❤️

Our February Half Term Holiday Camps are now open for booking, offering children a fun, engaging, and enriching week in a safe and nurturing environment.

From 9th–13th February (dates may vary depending on individual school closures), children will enjoy a varied programme designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and confidence, including:

🎨 Construction and loose parts play
⚽ Games and sports
🧁 Baking and hands-on experiments
🔬 Science, challenges, quizzes, and plenty of fun

Our school-age holiday camps are available across:
Armagh, Bangor, Carrickfergus, Portadown, Lisburn, Belfast South and East, Crumlin, and Newtownabbey.

We are also offering pre-school holiday camps in:
Aldergrove, Crumlin, Holywood, Lisburn, and Newtownabbey.

Spaces are limited and early booking is recommended.

Sleepy Hollow Group is currently recruiting part-time Afterschool Assistants to join our school-age teams during term time.

This is a rewarding opportunity for caring, reliable people who enjoy working with children in a supportive, professional environment.

We are looking for candidates who:
• Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare (preferred but not essential)
• Are enthusiastic, dependable and child-centred
• Are available Monday to Friday during term time, with some flexibility to work additional hours over holidays

Loved this feedback from our colleagues who said they had a parent to come in to say that their child didn’t want to leave, went home and created their own sensory tray and there was zero screen or tv time that evening at home. That’s what we love to see - playing instead of watching !!!

And that’s a wrap on summer camp .. what a fun way to finish off with a trip to Ulster Museum and Botanical Gardens.

We wish all of the children a wonderful start to school and year ahead. 🙏🙏

We will be back with wraparound services on Monday 1st September Fun 4U Armagh and Portadown branches. A huge thanks to our staff teams at both branches for making this summer full of fun … we hope you enjoy the well deserved week off ♥️

All other Sleepy Hollow Group branches open as normal next week … with the exception of the bank holiday of course 🥰🥰

We had a really busy day yesterday with visits to the Armagh Planetarium and Navan Fort, where we all got a chance to experience being astronauts and Celtic warriors!🌍🪐🛖 The children had a blast at the dome show and getting their faces painted in their war paint. 🎨 🚀

Sorry our HQ is closed today as we are off helping our friends at Ulster Rugby fun day which is in partnership with us this year … Sleepy Hollow and Fun 4U Armagh and Portadown - come say hi to us if you see our team there we will be in Sleepy Hollow black t-shirts with our logos !

Today marked Play Day 2025, a celebration we treasure in Sleepy Hollow, with this year's theme focusing on "spaces to play."

We hope our photographs demonstrate how we maximise every available space, from indoor classrooms to dens to outdoor areas, and today at Stormont! The significance of choosing Stormont Estate for our Play Day celebration during this particular week was not lost on us.

Our activities included play in the Mo Mowlam play park, picnics on the hillside, games in the grass areas, and visits to the assembly chambers. We chose this location to acknowledge the support provided for these school-age children and to recognise the positive response to calls for extending the Northern Ireland Childcare Support Scheme (NICSS) to these children and their families from September onwards.

While we consistently advocate for childcare-related causes, we do not always celebrate our collective achievements. The NICSS scheme represents a significant success story for our registered wraparound settings based in primary schools, as we currently have 515 children already registered across our branches and anticipate this number will double. Facilitating play opportunities for all ages remains fundamental to our ethos, particularly within school-age provisions in our partner primary schools where we can offer fully registered services, year-round care, sponsored placements where required, support for Universal Credit applications, financial assistance for parents who are students, and social services placements. We now expect our client applications to NICSS to reach 1,000 registrations by September, which will deliver much-needed and substantial savings to parents.

Therefore, we were delighted to select Stormont as our celebratory space for play this year. We had a ball !
