Well deserved, Daniel.

Last night, Daniel Wiffen was in Dublin to receive the James Joyce Award from Literary and Historical Society (L&H) of University College Dublin (UCD).

The James Joyce Award is the highest honour that a student society in Ireland can bestow on an individual and given to those who have achieved outstanding success in their given field.

Ian O'Riordan from the Irish Times spoke to Daniel last night after receiving the award ✍ https://www.irishtimes.com/sport/2024/10/23/daniel-wiffen-finds-inspiration-from-joyce-on-the-next-stage-of-his-swimming-odyssey/️

SAR have just completed the order for a new minibus to replace the old one which is nearly 18 years old. It currently has almost 300,000km on the clock. Thanks are due to all who have contributed to the fundraising over many years. Special Thanks are due the pupils from Methodist College Belfast and St. Patrick’s College Maghera for their magnificent fundraising towards this worthy project over the past two years.

Daniel Wiffen secured a superb second world title by storming to gold in the 1500m freestyle final on the final day of the World Aquatics Championships in Doha. His high altitude training in Poiana Brasov with his twin brother Nathan has certainly paid off.
