Congratulations, Matthew. Well done.

Twenty-six Year 14 students were awarded three or more straight A or A* grades this year, among them, was Matthew Gildea. Matthew achieved an A grade in History, an A grade in Politics and an A* grade in Travel and Tourism and is going to study History at university with the aim of being a primary school teacher. Matthew’s dad, Mr. Peter Gildea complimented St Patrick’s Grammar School staff saying, “We are delighted with our son’s performance, not just with his A Level achievement but for his seven years at the school. The staff have always been pastoral, supportive and continuously had high expectations for Matthew, particularly through the challenging Covid period. The A Level performance across the school appears to be outstanding and as a family we wish further success to all the students as they continue on their educational journeys.”
Mr. Gildea continued, “We also express gratitude to Mr. Clarke and all school staff for their sterling efforts and wish continued success for the school in the future.”

Congratulations, Aidan

School Aid Romania Keady 2021 Fundraiser, organized by Emer Rafferty

Hi everyone! This week we have all been reminded of some fabulous times spent out in Romania. It really is a life changing experience not only for our students, but for the many vulnerable people helped by this great charity. In St Patrick's we have always been proud to say that School Aid Romania is very much student led, in terms of money raised and students themselves deciding how fundraising money should be spent. In the absence of students not been able to travel to Romania this year, it is fantastic to see a go fund me page set up by students from Keady, St Patrick's and Cookstown high school. These are students who have witnessed first hand the deprivation experienced by many people in Romania.

Please feel free to donate to this great cause.

Transgender woman punched in the face in ‘humiliating’ Belfast attack | ITV News

Well done, Michael. A transgender woman who was attacked in Belfast city centre in what police are treating as a hate crime has told UTV she wouldn’t wish her ordeal on anyone.

Well done, Turlough

This is Turlough Lardner who attended Somebody's Stranger's blood stem cell registration event in Tullysaran in June, 2019.

Turlough's stem cells were found to be a match for someone suffering from a blood cancer and today those stem cells were successfully donated in London. They don't know each other, but somewhere in the world a cancer sufferer's family will be eternally grateful to their stranger. You're a hero, big man! Never forget that.

Without selfless people like Turlough and Martina Campbell who hosted us, this person may not be getting a second chance at life.

Well done, Aidan. Keeping up the SAR tradition.

We are delighted to announce that our Head Prefect for 2020/2021 is Aidan Harney. 🍏🍎

Aidan was elected by his peers and is very well deserving of this position and responsibility. An excellent ambassador for our school community- representing the school in sports, in charitable undertakings and academically.

Great work going on in the vegetable garden in Hărman.

Viorel purchased a new television for Harman using SAR funds. The young people there are also in lockdown so the additional TV will make life easier for them. Movement in Braşov is very limited, more so than here. Viorel is allowed to travel to Harman due to his responsibilities there. He visits every second day. The young people in Harman are being very responsible in their approach to the serious situation.
