STRUGGLING TO MOTIVATE YOURSELF TO MOVE TODAY?!!

I had one of those days yesterday and although I felt like I had less energy than usual I had to gently force myself to jump on my mat and do something!! 🙌

But as soon as you arrive there, movement happens naturally and although it was a short practice I felt the benefit of playfully moving ☺️

SIMPLE BUT EFFECTIVE WAY TO AWAKEN THE BACK BODY & OPEN UP THE SHOULDERS & ALSO ACTIVATE THOSE DEEPER CORE STABILIZERS THAT PROTECT YOUR SPINE AND IMPROVE THE OVERALL STABILITY OF YOUR LOWER BACK.

KEEP A DEEP BEND IN THE KNEES FOCUS ON EXTENDING THE SPINE..

Feet in particular often are very neglected so here are just a few yoga poses I would regularly do before and after my daily walk ☺️

Elevating your legs is great to help improve blood flow in your lower extremeties. Foot Rolling has so many wonderful benefits for your feet & legs - I use the spiky ball as I found these are most effective 🎾

Happy Mother’s Day 💗💗💗

Becoming a mum 19 years ago was one of the most scariest things (I lost both my mum & my dad within 2 years before my son was born) but he was definitely a blessing in disguise and I’m so grateful everyday to have him in my life 🥰🙌 I always feel a little sad on this day also missing my own mum and not having her here to share this journey with me but I will honour her today as she was the best mum I could ever ask for ❤️ Don’t have many pictures of my mum (my older sister has them all 🤨) and I know she wouldn’t have like this one as she never liked her hair styled this way 😆 but she was so beautiful inside & out 🥰

Meditation doesn’t have to seem like hard work or something you think you’ll never be able to do or be any good at 🧘🏻
**
Meditation is simply the ability to quieten the mind and learning to listen to the beautiful innate wisdom you have within 🥰
**
Start even a few minutes a day of conscious breathing, becoming aware of how you naturally breathe.
**
Place one hand on the lower belly and the other one over the centre of the chest. Observe how your body moves as you breathe. Notice if you breathe into the lower abdomen (belly breathing) or do you breathe higher up in the chest.
**
Proper breathing mechanics is required to calm the nervous system and improve overall health 🙌
**
Here is a simple breathing exercise to help focus the mind and draw the awareness inwards...
**
Inhale expand the belly fully and allow the pelvic floor muscles to relax and as you exhale, relax the belly and gently draw it back towards the spine, also gently engage the pelvic floor muscles on the exhale.
**
Set a timer and continue breathing this way for 3-5 minutes to start with ☺️
**
If anyone also has any pelvic floor and Jaw related issues, this breath practice really does help!

Plank pose (kumbhakasana) is a strengthening and balancing pose that prepares the arms and core body for more advanced arm-balancing postures.

Plank Pose tones all of the core muscles of the body. It strengthens the arms, wrists, and shoulders. Plank also strengthens the muscles surrounding the spine, which improves posture.

Plank is a foundational pose ~ It teaches you to hold yourself together making you physically and mentally stronger 💪
**
This has always been one of my favourite poses as I feel strong and connected to my mind & body 😅 🙌

Modifications ~ Drop to your knees in tabletop position. Sensitive wrists ~ Drop the forearms to the mat with elbows aligned under the shoulders.
