The year 14 Health and Social Care class were given a presentation by Aoife Anderson from Women’s Aid on the invaluable role that the charity plays in supporting women and children who are victims of domestic violence. The pupils found the presentation very beneficial as it assists them with writing a section of their controlled assessment task that focuses on the topic of family. The girls were able to present Women’s Aid with a donation of £250 that they raised from a bake sale. We would like to thank Aoife for taking the time out of her busy schedule to come visit us at RSA.

As part of their controlled assessment task they focus on the topic of family and the role voluntary organisations play in supporting families. Women’s Aid visit the school every year to give a presentation to the pupils and this is invaluable in helping the pupils complete their write-up. The total amount raised from the cake sale was £250 which will be presented to Ms Anderson at the end of October. We would like to thank you all for supporting the event and well done to the girls for their hard work! ’said
