As we bring our #HHL1820 Healthy Happy Lifestyles Erasmus+ project to a close, we engaged our pupils in a collaborative arts project where we worked with our partner schools to write Acrostic poetry pieces of the key terms relating to Resilience in Pupils, in addition to creating artwork of local landmarks for each school to accompany the poetry.
Finally, our colleague Rami had his class compose and sing the backing track for the following video. All in all, we were delighted that the boys and girls were enabled to develop their own Mental Wellbeing and Mindfulness. Check out our video at the link below;

Éacht ollmhór bainte amach ag dalta R7!

Tá gliondar croí ar an scoil fógairt gur bhain duine dár ndaltaí, Aoibhe ó R7, comórtas scríbhneoireachta ar na mallaibh a réachtáil An tÁisaonad do pháistí Gaelscoile. As na hiarrrachtaí go léir a chuireadh isteach ó scoileanna timpeall na tíre, roghnaíodh saothar Aoibhe mar bhuaiteoir. Gabhann gach duine ar scoil comhghairdeas ollmhór léi agus ba mhaith linn fosta ár mbuíochas a roinnt le Gábhan agus a chomhghleacaithe san Aisaonad chomh maith le Risteard Mac Dáibhéid as an túsábhar a chumadh!

Everyone at the school is immensely proud of our R7 pupil Aoibhe who recently won the Seomra Nuachta writing competition for Gaelscoil pupils. Out of the entries received, Aoibhe's work was selected for its 'creativity, richness of language and build up of tension!' Her novel, co-authored with Risteard Mac Dáibhéid, will now be printed and published for others to enjoy. You can also read her winning work by clicking the link below (Aoibhe's writing begins at page 10!)

Congratulations to all our pupils on their work on the Accelerated Reader Programme over this school year. We were delighted to award:
50 AR Millionaire plaques
9 AR Double Millionaire plaques
2 AR Triple Millionaire plaques

What a fantastic achievement. The amount of effort that goes into reading one million words, never mind two or three million is superb.

Pupils can now get a headstart on working towards the Millionaire Club for the 21/22 school year over the summer as we have now reset the programme.

Pictured are some of the Millionaire Readers from P/R4-7.

A huge thank you to Daniel, Jamie and all the team at The AmmA Centre for helping to organise a busy week of virtual live lessons and interactive workshops for some of our classes.
First up we had Mrs. Mackle and Miss. McParland's P3s working with well renowned local author Declan Carville to bring one of his novels to life.
This was then followed up with Jamie leading our KS2 classes in a 'Castle Build' Minecraft virtual live lesson.
All of the children were enthralled and engaged throughout.
Go raibh maith agaibh arís eile!

The annual Christian Brothers’ School cross country event drew to a conclusion recently. The individual championship is run over several months each year, with most of the pupils from Primary 4 to 7 taking part, with nearly 300 runners participating in the races. The pupils follow a rigorous circuit around the school, testing them on their overall fitness.

The pupils’ commitment and efforts are to be highly commended, the medal winners, and most especially all those boys and girls who participated for the fun, the hope of a medal and the chance of some great exercise. Well done to all pupils involved.

Pictured with Mr Breen are the individual medal winners from each year. #hhl1820
