The staff, performers and Board of The Armagh Rhymers are deeply saddened at the passing of the esteemed Eithne Vallely, Sister-In-Law of our Artistic Director Dara.
Eithne's contribution to traditional music was enormous, not only through her own family, but to the many children and young people who passed through The Armagh Pipers Club over the years.
Eithne will be sorely missed by the entire traditional arts community.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her husband Brian, her children, grandchildren and the entire Vallely family.

It is with great sorrow that we share the news that Armagh Pipers Club's Director of Music, Eithne Vallely, has died at the age of 81. Our heartfelt sympathy goes to her husband Brian and their family. Eithne brought music into the lives of children for six decades. Her enormous contribution to Irish traditional music was recognised nationally with many awards and honours.

Eithne will be waked at her home, 14 Victoria Street, from 1pm to 8pm on Sunday and Monday. Funeral in St Patrick's Cathedral on Tuesday at 1pm. No flowers please; donations to the Air Ambulance.
