[08/04/21]   So inspection went really well lady liked everything we do and how happy and safe the children are, but unfortunately due to being informed wrongly about training during covid , was told to do it online to cover the gap until face to face re-opens and then book on which is what I did all booked and paid for for the 25th of September ( they are only doing 1 paediatric first aid a mth ) she didn’t know the online training company, so shown her the web page and it states for childminders and a list of other working with children’s roles , I have apparently missed the covid leniency time frame 😑😑😑I should have not waited for the company iv used for 10 years to open up again I should have traveled if I had to to get face to face training done 😭😭😭😭 I’m so upset that it’s ok to be left nearly 2 years to be inspected due to covid but I’m not allowed a mths leeway and it was on the phone to get help and advice who told me it was ok and I was doing the right things 😭😭 talk about move the goal post . So now just have to wait for the report, either challenge it and only get a β€œneeds improvement β€œ grade and have to Wait over a year or suck it up tell myself it was a miss informed and understanding paper work covid glitch and they come back in 3 mths and we get the β€œgood grade β€œ we deserve.
I’m so angry, annoyed, heart broken and close to giving up, it’s feels like one rule for you and another for them and being miss advised and nothing else I can do it’s so frustrating, the inspector said she thinks the web site was naughty and misleading and tryed to argue our case with her supervisor but he wouldn’t budge.
So now got to wait for the report, then decided what to do argue it, suck it up or just give up 😭😭😭😭😭
I want to thank all my lovely families for all your lovely comments you sent to the inspector she said she can see how well we work together and have great connections and to my parents who spoke to her on they day she said it was great positive feedback so again thankyou.
Iv been running 11 years and love my job and my extended families but covid has took so much of my business and my health I’m not sure how much more I can take .

July has been full of special occasions: leaving parties, graduations, pool parties, lots of garden play enjoying the beautiful sunshine and making lots of memories. We are very sad to see some children go but we are so excited to see what their next adventure holds for them and wish them the best of luck! Also continuing to support our rising 5's as they prepare themselves for big school in September whilst having lots of fun at Loretta's! We continue to do everything we can to stop covid-19 from coming to our door, lots of hand washing and deep cleaning for Loretta and Sophie. Although the government are relaxing the rules even more we will continue to follow all of the safety precautions that we have in place to do everything we can to keep us all safe and open!
Enjoy the summer and the sun (when it arrives lol) be kind and please stay safe! 🌻🌻🌻

So January 2021 hasn't started the way we would have all hoped, but at Loretta's childminding we have tried to stay positive and continue to keep all the children safe, happy and engaged in lots of different activities.
We have learnt about special days that get celebrated like St Andrews day and Australia day, home schooling and P.E with Jo Wix's! We have been measuring and weighing when we have been cooking yummy things, we have been looking at imprints in the mud and shadows on the walls/fences and deciding if they are small or big. We have been on some lovely walks and played lots of fun games in the fresh air , we have produced more amazing pictures for a Covid-19 recovery ward and we have been looking after the wildlife in these very cold and frosty days - feeding the birds. We thanked our recycling men who took our old rubbish away to turn it into new things and of course this is on top of our every day fun we have.
We continue to thank all our key workers for their hard work in these very dangerous times.
Pleas continue to stay safe, be respectful of others because we never know what others are going through but most of all stay positive for better times to come.

So here is what we got up to in December, I'm so proud of all we did in the build up to what we knew would be a very different Christmas for all of us.
We did so many arts and crafts for our parents, we helped cheer up the village with our pretty lights and one very beautiful tree, and we made an arch to display our amazing 'Bells of Hope'.
We also did a lot of talking about how hard this year has been for all of us,a lady from the village called Emma put together Christmas Hampers for the Elderly and Venerable people of the Village to which we made Decorations and beautiful pictures to put in them. But we thought things would be even more differcult for all the homeless people who don't have a safe place to stay indoors, or have a place to wash their hands each day, let alone more regularly. So, my friend was cooking Christmas dinner for a homeless charity, I asked how we could help, and so I thought about making a little care package for them. We put together 80 care packages, 40 mens and 40 ladies, for the homeless so they would receive a gift this Christmas.
The Children were all so passionate with this they were really eager to help others who don't have family or anyone, to the point one of my amazing children used some of her pocket money when she was shopping in town with her mum and went and bought 5 selection packs and gave them to homeless people she saw, and another one of the children asked her mum when they were having a coffee in costa if she could buy a man she had spotted in a door way a coffee. I am so proud of how the children have taken on board that there are so many people who are far less fortunate then themselves, I think we have got some amazing young people here at Loretta's Childminding.
We are all hoping 2021 will be a better year !
stay safe everyone ############x

Just to reassure all parents out there that you are able to use your childminder during these hard times if you need to ❀️
This is great news πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»
So if your scared of your child mixing with only key working children, a single parent, you have no other child care support bubble or if you have to work but your not classed as a key worker it is now in writing we can help as childminders to support ALL our families in these hard times xx

Like me, I imagine many of you are reeling a little following the Prime Minister’s address yesterday evening announcing a further lockdown. Crucially, all schools and colleges will close to most pupils from Today (Tuesday 5th Jan 2021) with remote learning in place until February half term. This is the most difficult of times for us all, as we consider the impact on our families and wider commitments. As you know, school will remain open for children of critical workers and vulnerable children. Essex County Council have shared the following guidance regarding critical worker status and school provision for children of critical workers.

The purpose of the critical worker only provision is to enable those that are critical to the Covid-19 response to go to work, whilst reducing the number of children in school as much as possible. This is to reduce the risk of transmission of the virus.

Therefore if it is possible for your child to remain at home, they should do so. This includes where parents are working from home.

If you or any of the family are unwell you must all stay home please to help us as a home run childcare setting be able to reduce the risk of the infection getting into my home, if the children who are able to attend the setting are showing any signs of being unwell or develop a temperature will be sent home and will be expected to keep at home for 48 hours.
Also if you are a critical care worker but you are not working for instance you have a day off you must keep your child at home with you and help us as a country stay safe by following the new rules of 'STAY HOME,SAVE LIVES ,PROTECT THE NHS .

I will stay open as long as I'm able too !!
And as long as it is safe for my family to do so !!
This means we must all work together to help keep everyone who comes to my home safe, i have told Nanny Jean and Grandad Graham to not come over so the main care as ever will be given by myself and Sophie, and we will work very closely with all the schools and pre schools we work with to make sure all drop offs and pick ups are safe for us to do soothes mite mean we may have to pick up a little outside the normal times but as you can imagine this is a very worrying time for us so i want to keep Sophie and Myself who will be doing the pick ups as safe as we can and not standing in a group of other adults for to long ,but this will be worked out between parents and settings as of when we need too.

I hope this offers some clarification and ensures that our critical worker provision operates as safely and effectively as possible in these very challenging circumstances.

Google Form

In order for us to plan effectively for what we now know to be a longer period of time please could you complete the Google Form to inform us whether you are eligible for this status, whether your child will be attending and on which days. Please complete the relevant sections of the Google Form whether you intend to use this provision or not. The form can be accessed at the link below;

Please all stay safe, follow the rules , keep communicating and above all stay happy and well , we will all get through this
lots of love
