A massive congratulations to our Kilties for surviving another exam season. πŸ’ͺ Our dancers have been working extremely hard in the last few months learning and practising new steps, dances and theory work, in preparation for their SOHDA exams held in Dundee last weekend.

They all did an amazing job and received excellent scores and comments from the examiners.

We are so proud of all their hard work and determination πŸ’œ Well done Kilties!

(Pictures minus the big girls who I'm sure are relieved I missed them for a photo πŸ˜…)

Kilties Sophie, Georgia and Eilidh were back at the Arbroath Abbey last week to welcome visitors from Alexandria, Virginia.

Alexandria has been twinned with nearby Dundee since 1962. Visitors from the City, including their Mayor Alyia Gaskins, were brought to the Abbey in conjunction with their trip to Scotland, to learn about how the Declaration of Arbroath inspired the Declaration of Independence.

Thank you to the girls for taking time out of their summer holidays to perform a few dances and to Friends of Arbroath Abbey for the invite. πŸ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ ΏπŸ’œ

The Kilties were invited to take part in the Dundee Get Together in City Square a couple of week ago. The event focused on bringing groups within the community together to celebrate kindness and inclusivity in Dundee.

Our dancers were filmed prior to the event and the footage used to create a short film, promoting community groups in Dundee, that was shown on a big screen at the event.

On the day we had a fun afternoon dancing in a parade down Reform street and into City Square, where everyone was invited to dance and join in the festivities. πŸ₯°

There was real buzz and positive atmosphere in the heart of the city and it was lovely to see everyone come together to enjoy the live music and demonstrations from different dance groups. Thank you to Dundee Council for having us. πŸ’œ

A wonderful way to spend tartan day in Arbroath with the Kilties πŸ₯°

Did you know the 6th of April marks the day the Declaration of Arbroath was signed in 1320? Today we celebrated that day at the place where the declaration was signed all those years ago, Arbroath Abbey. We joined the procession through the high street, past the harbour and finished with a dance on Beacon Green beside the signal tower. 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Thank you to Friends of Arbroath Abbey for having us along to dance and celebrate our wee hometown. πŸ’œ
