While I might have been quiet on here, I can assure you that there has been lots going on 🏡🎓☺️

Through a busy summer of relocating, settling in wonderful new families and enjoying some great new outings I’ve managed to find time to complete my SVQ Level 7 in social services (children and young people) 🎉
Continuously developing my knowledge enables me to provide the highest standard of care, following the latest guidances and using effective development strategies.

Feeling proud and I am excited to see what the next challenge may be 💭📝

Childminding availability
I have recently relocated to the area, and I am excited to announce I have some childminding availability from September 😁🏡👶🏻

✨Pre school spaces (0-5 years)
📆 Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

I have been childminding in Angus for over 3 years, and I’m now offering childcare from our home in the countryside, just off the A9, between Forteviot and Dunning. Ideal for commuting parents, or just a short drive from local villages.

And thats a wrap, what a emotional week we’ve had saying bye to the wonderful children and their families that have trusted me to care for their children during my time at Slade Farmhouse, they all are so special and become such a big part of my family 🥺💓 I know they will all strive and excel in their next chapter, good luck kiddos 🥰

However, as the saying goes ‘as one door closes, another opens’ so it’s time to look ahead to the next chapter and there will be some exciting news for families near the Perth area, as I will soon be advertising spaces available from my new location 🏡🌳🚜

Tots on the farm 🧑‍🌾🐑🚜🐓
The children and I have loved going along to Oakfield farm for a block of Tots on the farm.
Farm visits have been a great addition to our learning and adventures in our weekly routine.

🚜The children are able to explore different sensory activities such as stroking animals and water play
🚜Learning about hygiene and putting this into practice, washing our hands lots!
🚜Socialising and interacting with their peers
🚜 Risk assessing and risk taking in their play
🚜 Learning and understanding where their food comes from
🚜keeping active and enjoying the fresh air

And I’ve loved the cuppy and cakes 😂☕️

Sports day ⭐️🏅🏃‍♀️
We have had a great fun sports day today (day 1, day 2 coming up soon to ensure everyone gets to join in with the fun)

Great to keep us active, and the children were included in every step of planning, setting up, risk assessing, participating and encouraging one and other 👏 They are all so supportive of one and other!

We love to keep active here at India’s childminding and a sports day is great for gross motor skills, hand eye coordination, balance and so much more.
Some healthy competition along with teaching children the importance of listening, turn taking and importantly remembering it’s all about having fun ⭐️

Hoppy Easter 🐰🍫🐣

We’ve had a great fun filled Easter holidays visiting lots of different local attractions, Carnoustie fire station, Oakfield farm tour, Easter themed crafts, baking, and activities along with our own Easter bonnet competition and egg hunt 👒🥚👀

Some of the children’s highlights from their holidays were -
‘The big fire engine with the water’ 🚒
‘Feeding the lambs, they had cute jumpers on’ 🐑
‘Getting a chocolate at the end of our Easter hunt’ 🤣🫣

This morning I caught the Easter bunny setting up for the first day of Easter hunts here 🐣🐇

Lots of discussions about colours, numeracy, directions, teamwork, gross and fine motor skills will be required for our hunt 👀✏️

After a few days of what felt like spring, today was very windy! The children were chatting about how it was blowing their hair in different directions, so we got to work and made some fun wind resources 💨🧵
Once we had threaded the strings through, made patterns, and spoke all about the colours we had completed them. Then out to brave the wind so we could see the strings move and flutter around with the wind, the children loved exploring different directions, speeds, heights and locations that effected the movement

Pancake day 🥞🧑‍🍳

We love any opportunity to do some baking here and learn all about where our food has come from.
So today was the perfect excuse to make some tasty pancakes for snack 😋
The children all worked together, taking turns to add ingredients, looking for the numbers on the scales and speaking about the risks and how we stay safe while cooking 👏

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Burns day 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
We had a busy time on the run up to Burns day, we listened to lots of Scottish music and learnt some highland dancing, along with some basic steps from ceilidh dances (all those dinner dances from the younger years coming in handy!🕺)
We tasted some haggis for snack, lots of mixed reviews on this and then we made our own haggis’. Tried to tell some Scottish poems to our friends and learn the meaning of Scottish words, this was very fun!
We also looked at some different kilts and family tartans 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
So many different skills used while enjoying learning about burns day

❄️ Snow days ❄️

I enjoy being able to incorporate the outdoors and nature into our daily learning experiences and play. This week we have had some snow, we are lucky we can adapt our routines to ensure we had plenty time to enjoy the snow in different ways ⛄️🛷🎨🥶

Snow play is great for using our gross and fine motor skills, promoting cognitive, physical and emotional development with our peers 🌟

Merry Christmas and Happy new year to all my families and wonderful children, past, present and future 💗🎄🎅🏽

Lots of fun has been going on here, secret crafts for special mums and dads, Santa visits, parties, loose parts, reindeer dust and much more

Lots of Christmas books and songs have been sung and memorised 🎶

I look forward to hearing all the magical stories when the children return next week ✨🎁
