This Friday at Annan Academy 🇫🇷🇪🇸
Donations of raffle prizes and baking still very much welcomed!

🇫🇷Bonjour! 🇪🇸Ola! 🇩🇪 Hallo! 🇵🇱 Witam! 🇮🇹Ciao! 🇬🇧Hello!

Annan Academy's pupil Language Ambassadors are back with more fun and games to celebrate European Day of Languages 2026 with a 🎉Feria 🎉 on Friday 25th September.
More info on that will follow but in the meantime we're here to see if you could offer them a little help....si vous plaît 🇫🇷.....por favor 🇪🇸.....bitte 🇩🇪......proszę🇵🇱.....per favore 🇮🇹.....pretty please! 🇬🇧 🙏🏼
They are looking for donations of age-appropriate raffle prizes, and goods for their bake sale (home-made or shop-bought are all very welcomed). Our Language Ambassadors work extremely hard to promote learning of languages and cultures in our school, so please do support them in this if you can. Items can be handed in at the school office, or via your child to the Modern Languages Department. Thank you 🙏🏼

We all know that education budgets are stretched beyond their limits year upon year. But as a Parent Council we still want to add magic and sparkle and enhance the educational experience of every pupil at Annan Academy.
Could you please spare even just a pound or two a month to help us to do that? 🥺🙏🏼
We work very closely with the school to identify where those funds can best help in boosting the incredible work that Annan Academy staff already do ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you are able to, we ask you to please consider setting up a monthly standing order to Annan Academy Parent Council. That can be for as little or as much as you like, and is in your full control to start and stop, increase or decrease, as you please. The link in the comments will take you to further information on this Academy Acorns scheme and the bank details needed to set it up.

We are incredibly grateful to those already donating and will soon be reminding you all of the many ways these funds have improved school life over the last year. Little acorns do indeed become great oaks 🖤💛

Are you an online shopper? We have a really easy way to raise funds and it doesn't cost you a penny! Sign up to Easyfundraising (selecting Annan Academy Parent Council as your chosen cause). When you online shop go to the Easyfundraising app or website, search for your online retailer (Amazon, eBay, Tesco, Booking.com are all there but there are THOUSANDS more) and then go ahead and shop as normal. Or you can use the app to set up a reminder for when you go directly to a website. A small percentage will be donated to us by the retailer at NO extra cost to you. All the pennies add up...and if you're booking something big like a holiday or car insurance then it's quite a boost in itself.
So far this has raised 💰 £1,132.21 💰with just 35 supporters - imagine what it could fund for our school if we get the whole school community involved!
All proceeds are used to support Annan Academy to be it's very best 🖤💛

We had a very enthusiastic and positive Parent Council AGM and meeting yesterday evening. It was great to see both new and familiar faces there, and to be joined by our brand new and fabulous School Captains - Megan and Ava 🖤💛

We're pleased to say the roles of Chair and Secretary have again fallen on the very capable shoulders of Heather and Sarah. And I'm afraid you're stuck with me (Fiona) as Social-Media-Bletherer 💬🔊🗨️📢🗯️👋🏼🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛

We give great thanks to Allan for his years in the role of Treasurer, but to allow a smooth handover we are now looking for someone to fulfill this role going forward. Could this be YOU? Allan will be very happy to talk anyone through what's involved and will assure you that it won't take up too much of your time. If you are interested, please message our page, drop us an email at [email protected], tap us on the shoulder, or let us know via the school office.

Watch this space for reminders of some really easy ways that you can help us to support our school 🖤💛🖤💛🖤

A wee reminder of our AGM and first meeting of the academic year. We've bumped the time back a bit to 6.30pm to allow those going to the S4 Information Session to drop in there first.
New and familiar faces are all welcome. See you there! 🖤💛

🖤💛 A whole new academic year lies ahead of us. Goodness knows what all we will get up to! 😁😁😁
We would love you to be part of it. Our AGM, followed by a brief meeting, will be held on Tuesday 15th September at 6pm [now 6.30pm to allow for those dropping into the S4 information session] in the Learning Plaza at school (pop in the front doors and we'll guide you up there). No experience required, all are warmly welcomed - we would LOVE to see you there🖤💛

CAN YOU HELP SHAPE A YOUNG PERSON’S FUTURE?

We’re looking for local employers to offer work experience opportunities to pupils at Annan Academy.

For a young person spending time in a real workplace can make a huge difference. It can help them discover a career they didn’t know existed, build confidence, develop valuable skills and understand what employers are looking for. 💼

If you could offer a young person an opportunity, please get in touch with Miss Todd ([email protected])
Let’s work together to connect our young people with the world of work.✨
