Last week we said goodbye to our wonderful P7 pupils, we wish you every success and happiness as you move on to your new school. We are incredibly proud of all of you and look forward to hearing about your achievements in the future.

Thank you to all our parents and the wider community for your continued support throughout the year.

We also said goodbye to Mrs Caroline Morris from Small Talk NI who has who has been a very important member of our school community for over 10 years. Caroline has provided invaluable expertise and support to pupils in Nursery and P1 with their speech and language and helped us to meet every child’s needs.

Finally, we said goodbye to Mrs McKibbin who has taught in Primary 2 and 3 for 18 years. Mrs McKibbin’s commitment to her pupils, colleagues and to the wider school community has been truly outstanding. In addition to her classroom teaching, she has given invaluable leadership as our Numeracy Coordinator, helping to shape high quality teaching and learning across the school. We wish Mrs McKibbin every blessing in the months and years ahead.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding success of our recent school production of Matilda. From start to finish, it was a truly magical experience that showcased the remarkable talents, dedication and teamwork of our entire school community.

Our talented cast delivered performances of the highest standard, bringing energy, confidence and character to every scene. The lead roles were performed with passion and maturity well beyond their years, while the wider cast worked together seamlessly to create a vibrant, engaging show that captivated audiences each night. The school choir added depth and power, filling the hall with joyful, uplifting music that brought each scene to life.

The choreography was a particular highlight of the production, with pupils performing dynamic, polished routines that demonstrated excellent coordination, creativity and stage presence. Each number was executed with precision and enthusiasm, adding excitement and visual impact throughout the show. This was beautifully enhanced by the music accompaniment, which supported and enriched every performance, helping to create a professional and atmospheric production.

Behind the scenes, an equally impressive team worked tirelessly to ensure the production ran smoothly. Our backstage crew showed outstanding organisation and teamwork, managing props, scene changes and stage cues with real professionalism. The costume and make-up teams transformed the cast into their characters with creativity and attention to detail, adding an extra layer of authenticity and colour to the performance.

This production was a true team effort, involving pupils and staff across all roles, working together with enthusiasm, commitment and a shared sense of pride. The final result was a spectacular performance that will be remembered fondly by all who were involved and all who came to watch.

Well done to everyone who played a part in making Matilda such a resounding success!

We were delighted to welcome the Chairman of the Education Authority, Mr Mervyn Storey, to visit the school yesterday. It was great to have the opportunity to discuss ways that the Education Authority can continue to support the school with some of the plans that we have in place for the future. Mr Storey took time to visit all the classrooms and meet the staff as well as having a preview of the Primary 7 programme for their leavers assembly.
