🎉 One week to go! 🎉

This time next week, we’ll be welcoming our pupils back to Rookwood for the start of the new academic year.

There have been plenty of changes taking place over the summer, with improvements across the school, refreshed spaces and lots happening behind the scenes ready for September.

We’re looking forward to sharing more over the coming weeks – and, most importantly, to seeing our returning pupils and welcoming those joining Rookwood for the first time!

🎉 Celebrating GCSE success at Rookwood School! 🎉

We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 students who are celebrating an excellent set of GCSE results today.

⭐ 26% of grades achieved at 7–9
⭐ 13% of grades achieved at 8–9

It was wonderful to see so many happy faces this morning and to share such a special moment with our students and their families.

We are incredibly proud to have been part of each student’s Rookwood journey and to have watched them discover their strengths and prepare for their next steps. We can’t wait to see where those next chapters take them.

Congratulations, Year 11! Be proud of everything you have achieved – and wherever your journey takes you next, keep daring to know. 💫

There might be a few nerves as tomorrow approaches – and that’s completely understandable. As you wait, remember our school motto: 'dare to know'.

🎓 Celebrating outstanding A Level results at Rookwood! 🎓

We are incredibly proud of our students who achieved superb grades and conditional offers for their first-choice university destinations. 🎉

Headteacher Mr Robinson said the results reflect students’ determination, creativity and resilience - a true reflection of our motto, Sapere Aude – 'Dare to Know'.

Among those celebrating was Zac, who secured a place at The University of East Anglia to study Energy Engineering.

Congratulations Zac and to all our A-Level students, we wish you every success for the future! 💙

🚗 Bringing Learning to Life at MINI Oxford!

Our Year 10 Design & Technology and Business Studies students enjoyed an inspiring visit to the MINI Oxford factory, where they experienced modern manufacturing in action.

From advanced robotics and quality control to lean production and the final assembly line, students saw how classroom learning is applied in the real world. A highlight of the day was meeting Boston Dynamics' "Fido" robot, which detects tiny air leaks on the production line - a particular favourite for M

Feature Friday ✨

This week's Feature Friday showcases the delicious creations of our Year 8 students in Food Technology.

Bringing together creativity and practical cookery skills, students baked their own summer-themed focaccia, using a variety of colourful vegetables and fresh herbs to create eye-catching seasonal designs. Along the way, they developed key skills including dough preparation, kneading, shaping and baking, while learning about flavour, texture and presentation.

The finished focaccia looked almost too good to eat! Well done, Year 8, on your fantastic culinary creations. 🍅🌿🍞

☀️ End-of-Term Learning in the Sunshine!

Making the most of the warm weather, our Year 6 pupils took their end-of-term PSHE lesson outdoors to explore physical, personal and emotional health.

Working together, they planned and recorded their own emotional wellbeing podcasts, sharing practical advice and supporting one another through thoughtful discussion. A fantastic way to combine teamwork, creativity and reflection while enjoying the benefits of outdoor learning.🎙️🌿☀️
