🥊🧠 KICKBOXING — TRAINING THEIR BODY AND THEIR BRAIN
Want another reason to get your child involved in kickboxing?
Research reviewed by the Youth Sport Trust found that physically active children tend to achieve higher levels of academic attainment and that physical activity can support:
🎯 Concentration & attention
🧠 Memory & cognitive function
💪 Physical health & wellbeing
🎓 Learning & academic attainment
⭐ Self-regulation
But here’s the really interesting part for martial arts…
🥋 The research highlights emerging evidence that cognitively challenging physical activities, including martial arts, may produce greater and more sustainable improvements in executive functions than activities involving less cognitive demand.
And that makes sense.
In kickboxing, children aren’t just exercising.
They’re listening, remembering combinations, reacting to opponents, making decisions, developing coordination, controlling their emotions and learning to stay focused under pressure.
It’s a workout for the brain as well as the body.
