🎨🎨🎨Wi******er University Exhibition!🎨🎨🎨

We are also collaborating with Hampshire County Council's 'Climate Unity Programme' and the music department, which generously provided us with the musical instruments for this project.

Our Year 2 classes have been working together to transform these instruments into a tribute to our lovely choir, highlighting the importance of the circular economy.

It looks fantastic! The exhibition is open until July 22 at the Wi******er University Art Gallery. It even includes a QR Code which automatically plays a wonderful recording of our incredible choir so please visit if you have the chance.

🎨🎨🎨Art at the Station!🎨🎨🎨

Message from Mrs Marta...

In collaboration with the Hampshire Art Society, our Year 3 students created fantastic collages as a tribute to the Mexican artist "Frida Kahlo".

Twelve art pieces have been chosen and exhibited in the waiting rooms at Andover train station. Frida’s exhibition at the TATE Gallery in London is a highlight of the summer art events, and this is our small contribution to the "Making of the Icon" exhibition.

If you're traveling by train this summer, I encourage you to stop by and see our school’s work on displayβ€”it’s a wonderful feeling to see our efforts recognised!

Following an unprecedented week of challenging temperatures, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our incredible staff team who have worked tirelessly this week in extremely challenging conditions to provide a safe and happy space for the children.

Mrs Dance and our wonderful Friends Of Vigo Primary School treated the staff team to an ice cream from the ice cream van 🍦after school - this was really appreciated by the staff team and was a lovely gesture of grattitude.

We’d like to also thank our wonderful parent/carer community who have shown so much kindness, empathy and understanding throughout the week - this does not go unnoticed πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘ we understand that this week has required enormous flexibility and we really appreciate the collaborative approach to supporting the children’s safety and well-being.

And finally…the most important thank you to our incredible children. Their resilience and open mindedness never ceases to amaze us. It’s been a week of different classrooms and different timings but as usual the children have taken it all in their stride.

Everybody at Vigo Primary School would like to send our best wishes to Tommy Gentleman and Andover RFC for their special event tomorrow.

Tommy is completing a 156 kick challenge to raise awareness for Cardiac Risk in the Young - an amazing charity who work towards preventing young sudden cardiac deaths through awareness, screening and research, and supporting affected families.

Our Year 5 pupil, Freya - along with her friends - have given up some of their free time to create a poster to cheer Tommy on and to show their support!

πŸ‘‘πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ Year 4 Hampton Court Trip πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‘‘

Earlier this term, our Year 4 pupils journeyed to Hampton Court Palace as part of their History learning journey.

The children were being historians answering their key question: β€œHenry VIII - Power or Pain?”

Visiting Hampton Court allowed the children to experience one of the king’s key locations and were able to look for historical evidence to support their arguments.

🎨 Forget the fridge – Vigo School's young artists have made it into a professional gallery! πŸ–ΌοΈ

This Saturday, the creativity and talent of pupils at Vigo Primary School will be celebrated in a special exhibition finale at Chapel Arts Studio.

The exhibition, *We All Have Different Eyes*, showcases artwork created by the children and is the result of the passion and dedication of specialist Art Teacher, Mrs Marta Lichocinska, who believes children's creativity deserves to be celebrated just as much as that of adult artists.

πŸ—“οΈ **Saturday 13th June**

πŸ“ **Chapel Arts Studio**

Pupils say Mrs Lichocinska inspires them to think outside the box, believe in themselves and never give up when things don't go to plan.

The local community is invited to come along, see the world through children's eyes, and celebrate the incredible creativity on display. It's a wonderful opportunity to support young talent and enjoy a truly unique exhibition.
