All this recent rain hasn't stopped our little ones getting out and blowing the cobwebs away!

The children had a wonderful time colour mixing, scooping, pouring, splashing (and sitting) in the puddles. Adding powder paint allowed the children to experiment, make new colours and mark make in a variety of mediums.

As they say, no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing!!

Today Jennie, our owner/Director will be speaking on Women's Hours live on BBC Radio 4 @ 10am.

Jennie is very passionate about ensuring both parents and practitioners are being fairly treated by Government initiatives and will be giving her first hand views on the current funding issues and staff retention issues we currently face due to being one of the lowest paid professions in this country.

It was a quiet day today, so we thought we would pop to town and check out the library. After having a read of a few books we joined their rhymetime session for a little sing song.

All that singing gave us a very dry throat so a couple of babychinos and a toastie were in order.

On our way back to the minibus though, we heard some cakes calling our names so of course we had to grab a couple for pudding!

At Sprat & Winkle Day Nursery we encourage the children's natural curiosity surrounding aspects of their day. We value the importance of the process when engaging in their interest based activities.

This is a wonderful example of the children being able to explore the natural products mixed with paint and have a blank canvas with which to create!
