Those wishing an E-Scooter for Christmas or thinking of purchasing one, think again.....
E-Scooters are illegal unless being ridden on private land with the land owners permission.
E-Scooters will be seized by Police if seen being ridden on a road or pavement.
An insurance policy is required to use one the road and unfortunately an insurance policy can not be acquired for these.
You risk being prosecuted for having no insurance and points or fine at court.

Why is it that drivers don't indicate when turning right at a roundabout??
How is someone approaching the roundabout supposed to know your not going straight on!
When taking an exit past the 12 o clock position, for goodness sake INDICATE!!!
Section 184 of the Highway Code:
When taking an exit to the right or going full circle (unless signs or markings indicate otherwise):•Signal right and approach the exit in the right hand lane
•Keep to the right on the roundabout until you need to change lanes to reach your exit
•Signal left after you have passed the exit before the one you intend to take
COME ON CAR DRIVERS, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER
Please share if you agree. Thanks

Thinking of riding an e-scooter in Wiltshire? Know the law before you roll! 🛴
🚨 Thinking of riding an e-scooter in Leicestershire? Know the law before you roll! 🛴
🔹 Privately owned e-scooters are illegal to use on public roads, pavements, parks, or shopping centres. They can only be used on private land with the landowner’s permission.
🔹 Rental e-scooters are allowed in trial areas - but only if:
✅ You have a valid driving licence
✅ You follow road traffic laws
✅ You wear safety gear (helmet recommended!)
❗ Break the rules and you could face:
- £300 fine + 6 points for no insurance
- £100 fine + points for no licence
- £50 fine for riding on pavements
- £200 fine for using a phone while riding
Let’s keep our roads and communities safe. Ride smart. Ride legal. 💙
