Strengthening our support for Service children
The Stonehenge School has signed a local Education Covenant for Service Children, reinforcing our commitment to ensuring that pupils from military families experience no disadvantage in their education because of Service life.
Mrs Blake and Mrs Hooper are members of the Military Champion Network, where Mrs Blake signed the agreement on our behalf. The covenant brings local schools and colleges together to support Service children through the challenges that can accompany postings, deployment and family separation.
Our shared commitments include supporting pupils when they move schools, providing pastoral care at key points, listening to their experiences and creating opportunities for them to connect with other Service children. The agreement also commits us to celebrating our military community, including through the Month of the Military Child and a joint annual event.
With Service families forming such an important part of our school community, we are pleased to strengthen this partnership. Thank you to Mrs Blake and Mrs Hooper for their continued dedication to our Service children and their families.

Young Carers Award
We were delighted to welcome Councillor Jon Hubbard, Wiltshire’s Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, to school today to present us with our Young Carers Award. Our Equity Ambassadors welcomed him, and he was joined by one of the young carers who has helped deliver training to staff, and a member of the Young carers Wiltshire team who supported us in achieving the award.
Councillor Hubbard described The Stonehenge School as “one of the most proactive schools in Wiltshire” and praised our young carer leads for “genuinely thinking outside the box”. It was lovely to see the work we do to support young carers recognised in this way.
A special thank you goes to Mrs Hooper and Mrs Blake for their hard work and dedication to our pupils.
