Lindfield Pre-School Nursery

Lindfield Pre-School Nursery Lindfield Pre-School Nursery is located in the Chilterns Lifestyle Centre in the heart of Amersham, Bucks. Our toddler group meets on Thursday mornings.

We run during term times with some holiday clubs and cater for children between 2-5 years old. Lindfield Pre-School Nursery is an Outstanding (Ofsted 2014 and 2019), well-established nursery in Amersham for children aged between 2 to 5 years. It also offers a toddler group on a Thursday between 10-11.30 for children from 18 months. In both of our last two Ofsted inspections we received an Outstand

ing rating in all areas and were commended for the considerable experience of the staff (some of whom have been with the nursery for over 20 years) and the nurturing environment that prepares children for school so well. Children in the nursery are allocated a keyworker and work up through keyworker groups which tailor activities according to the children's ages. We pride ourselves on maintaining close links with the families of our children as well as the wider community. Our toddler group is a great introduction to nursery life - it provides children with an opportunity to have lots of fun whilst getting to know the staff and environment, making the transition to nursery much smoother. Our staff are very experienced and are highly qualified and the nursery is committed to ongoing training. All our staff are first-aid trained to NVQ Level 3.

Whilst we are very fortunate to have air conditioned classrooms, we have also been keeping cool by;
Having a spa session
Enjoying a water pistol fight in the shade in the garden before it got too hot
Taking our shoes and socks off to feel the cool grass under the trees at the back of nursery. We then practised putting our shoes and socks back on independently.

We even painted pictures of the Monday night’s crazy thunderstorms! ☀️🥵⛈️⚡️

At Forest School we have had a mixture of different weather over the last few weeks so have changed where we visited and what we wore accordingly.
We went to the scout field and looked for bugs in the sun, visited the woods and got soaked on the way home (don’t worry we had full waterproofs and wellies on!) and last week we went to the park at the back of nursery to do some bark rubbing and did a colour hunt. 🍃 🍁 🌧️

With an Amber weather warning in place until Wednesday please be assured we will following the government guidelines to ensure the children stay safe in the hot temperatures.

We are very fortunate to have air conditioning in our classrooms and have put up gazebos in the garden for maximum shade.

To help us please ensure your child:
- has a named sun hat
- wears lightweight, loose clothing
- has sun cream applied before nursery (we will reapply during the day as necessary)
- brings a water bottle
- has a change of clothes available as there will lots of water play.

We will be encouraging the children to drink water regularly, particularly if we are outside, and will have lot of water and ice to play with. As always we will monitor the children and if they are struggling with the heat we will let you know.

In the meantime, enjoy the sunshine!! ☀️☀️🥵

We celebrated Earth Day today
Sunshine Room made their own planet Earths with tissue paper and planted seeds whilst Rainbow Room made earth sticks and planted beans at Forest School this morning and made their own planets this afternoon. 🌎

Day 2 of Easter Holiday Club🐣

Today we have made various crafts such as our own animal bag, painted animal clay figures and animal magnets.🐵🐨🐯🐢

We also made a bunny snack using whole meal bread and fruit🐰

In the afternoon we decorated our pirate swords and enjoyed snack in the sunshine🏴‍☠️☀️
