Lindfield Pre-School Nursery

Whilst we are very fortunate to have air conditioned classrooms, we have also been keeping cool by;
Having a spa session
Enjoying a water pistol fight in the shade in the garden before it got too hot
Taking our shoes and socks off to feel the cool grass under the trees at the back of nursery. We then practised putting our shoes and socks back on independently.

We even painted pictures of the Monday night’s crazy thunderstorms! ☀️🥵⛈️⚡️

The Rainbow Room children finished their butterfly project this week - every week they have learned about the lifecycle of a butterfly and made a new picture or craft for each stage using different techniques and they were proud to take the finished project home today. 🐛 🦋

At Forest School we have had a mixture of different weather over the last few weeks so have changed where we visited and what we wore accordingly.
We went to the scout field and looked for bugs in the sun, visited the woods and got soaked on the way home (don’t worry we had full waterproofs and wellies on!) and last week we went to the park at the back of nursery to do some bark rubbing and did a colour hunt. 🍃 🍁 🌧️

With an Amber weather warning in place until Wednesday please be assured we will following the government guidelines to ensure the children stay safe in the hot temperatures.

We are very fortunate to have air conditioning in our classrooms and have put up gazebos in the garden for maximum shade.

To help us please ensure your child:
- has a named sun hat
- wears lightweight, loose clothing
- has sun cream applied before nursery (we will reapply during the day as necessary)
- brings a water bottle
- has a change of clothes available as there will lots of water play.

We will be encouraging the children to drink water regularly, particularly if we are outside, and will have lot of water and ice to play with. As always we will monitor the children and if they are struggling with the heat we will let you know.

We celebrated Earth Day today
Sunshine Room made their own planet Earths with tissue paper and planted seeds whilst Rainbow Room made earth sticks and planted beans at Forest School this morning and made their own planets this afternoon. 🌎

We have been very busy doing lots of Easter activities over the last couple of weeks.

Day 4 of Easter Club🐣

Today we made chick biscuits using yellow icing with eyes and a beak🐥

Then we made bunny masks and bunny tails🐰

Day 2 of Easter Holiday Club🐣

Today we have made various crafts such as our own animal bag, painted animal clay figures and animal magnets.🐵🐨🐯🐢

We also made a bunny snack using whole meal bread and fruit🐰

In the afternoon we decorated our pirate swords and enjoyed snack in the sunshine🏴‍☠️☀️
