This week in class we are playing with bubbles! Beyond being pretty, they offer incredible developmental benefits for little ones:

✨ Motor Skills: Improves fine and gross motor skills through popping, reaching, and jumping.
✨ Visual Tracking: Helps eyes follow movement, a skill essential for learning sign language.
✨ Spatial Awareness: Develops depth perception and an understanding of space.
✨ Sensory Processing: Provides a "clean" sensory experience with unique textures and colors.
✨ Hand-Eye Coordination: Builds the precision needed to target and pop moving objects.
✨ Social & Communication: Encourages eye contact, turn-taking, and signing for "more."
✨ Following Directions: Teaches babies to follow simple goals (e.g., "poke" or "clap").
✨ Speech Development: Promotes early lip sounds like "p" and "b" (pop and bubble).
✨ Cognitive Skills: Introduces concepts like fast/slow, up/down, and direction.
✨ Imagination: Offers endless opportunities for creative and "pretend" play.
✨ Body Awareness: Helps kids learn body parts by popping bubbles with elbows, toes, or noses.

Why a hot drink matters!

We know that social interaction is absolutely vital for new parents, and it can be so difficult to get out and about, particularly keeping up with your old life. Making "mum friends" can be daunting but being able to meet other mums and dads in your local area is so important for mental health, reducing anxiety, and just feeling back to your old self.

That's why as well as the signing and sensory play portion, TinyTalk classes have dedicated social time, where you can have 30 minutes to sit and relax with a hot drink and biscuits while your baby plays. It is a great chance to share horror stories and mum fails, as well as compete for who had least sleep! More importantly you can reach out for support and a friendly ear from a supportive and non-judgemental group, many of whom are likely going through the same.
