πŸŽ‰ Congratulations to all Heatherton alumni who received their GCSE results today! πŸŽ“

To celebrate the occasion, we’re looking back at two of our remarkable alumni who graduated from Heatherton and went on to attend a top grammar school, Dr Challoner’s High School, in Buckinghamshire πŸ“šπŸ†.

At Heatherton, girls are given the confidence and support to succeed, helping them not only secure places at high-performing senior schools, but truly thrive there ✨.

With a strong academic programme, one-to-one support, and a character education that empowers girls to flourish, it’s no surprise that so many Heatherton girls go on to achieve great things at GCSE and beyond πŸš€

🎨 Year 4 get creative!πŸ–ŒοΈ

Before the summer break, Year 4 had a wonderful time welcoming artist Marjolein Trewavas – affectionately known to the children as Mrs Broccoli – for a special painting workshop in the Art Department. πŸ₯¦βœ¨

The children explored colour, brushstrokes and composition, developing their observational skills and confidence along the way. It was fantastic to see their creativity shine through, with every finished piece showcasing their own personal style.

Oh, we do like to be beside the seaside! 🌊

Year 2 stepped back in time for an immersive Victorian seaside experience, discovering what a trip to the beach was like over 100 years ago.

From dressing up in Victorian costumes πŸ‘’ to exploring the sand, examining old postcards and coins πŸͺ™, and finishing the day with a traditional puppet show 🎭, the girls fully embraced every activity.

What a fantastic way to bring history to life and inspire curiosity through hands-on learning! πŸ’™

From first words to real-life experiences. πŸ‡«πŸ‡·βœ¨

At Heatherton School, language learning starts in Nursery through songs, stories and conversation. As our pupils progress, their confidence, communication skills and cultural understanding grow with them.

By Year 6, they're putting their French into practice on their trip to Franceβ€”where classroom learning becomes real-world experience.

Every step builds confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of languages.

Year 6 brought their History topic to life during WW2 Day, from baking a wartime malt loaf and learning the Lambeth Walk to exploring VR experiences, code-breaking and authentic WWII artefacts.

Following on from the day, the girls were delighted to welcome Mr Winwright from Berkhamsted School, who shared his fascinating collection of WWII artefacts. They even had the opportunity to try on genuine Home Front uniforms and discover more about the vital roles women played during the war.

Heatherton was transported to the vibrant sounds of Trinidad and Tobago today, as Mike Simpson from Inspire-Works led an exciting series of steel pan workshops! 🎢πŸ₯

Each class from Years 2–6 had the opportunity to take part, learning to play the lively tune Hot, Hot, Hotβ€” perfectly suited to the glorious sunny weather! 🌞 Pupils worked collaboratively to create rhythms and melodies on these captivating instruments, while also discovering their fascinating history and design. 🎡

Nursery, Reception and Year 1 didn’t miss out either. As they were too young to play the pans themselves, they learned about the instruments and joined in with Mike using boomwhackers, with each class playing different chordsβ€” it sounded fantastic! ⭐

It was a joyful, immersive musical experience, and a fantastic time was had by all!
