So… here it goes. It’s taken me a little while to pull all of this together, and I want to thank you all for your patience. Part of the delay was practical — life, work, everything happening at once — but part of it was emotional too.
I wanted to give this whole process the
recognition, the honesty, and the space it truly deserved. Especially after such a clunky, chaotic build up. And when I think about all of this… and about Nab… I realise just how much of a journey it has been. Nab has always been such a special and loved place for me. It holds a calmness — a peace, a serenity — that somehow stays grounded no matter what life throws our way.
For over 40 years it has stood strong, witnessing everything: our memories, our relationships, our heartbreaks, our laughter. Through all the noise and all the changes, Nab has held onto what really matters: love, connection, and the people who shape our lives. And that is what I want to carry forward. That is what I want to protect. That is what I want the next generations to feel — the grounding, the sense of belonging, the reminder of what is important in this life. And the people I want to share this journey with? Well… I truly believe each of us has our own strength, grit, and determination.
Life throws us off guard, puts us through U turns we never saw coming, and yet somehow, we keep finding our way back to each other. We can build this together — to grow, to support one another, and to shape something meaningful from everything we’ve lived through. It hasn’t been an easy ride.
In fact, it’s been anything but easy. But I’m choosing now to stay focused on the positives — on my mum’s legacy, on the strength she passed down to me, and on the belief that she is still pulling the strings in her own way. As Sarah said the other day, “Only your mum could orchestrate this from beyond the grave.” And honestly… that just describes her perfectly. I’ve been carrying a lot. I’ve been quiet for too long.
But something has shifted. I've been inspired to finally find my voice again. To speak up. To step forward. To stop shrinking myself and start owning the parts of me that I’ve pushed down for years. So now I stand here with more clarity, more strength, and more purpose than I’ve felt in a long time.
And I want to carry that forward — with all of you — as we keep building on our journey, our growth, and our future together. Here’s to honouring where we’ve come from, embracing where we are now, and shaping what comes next… together. And when I think about the next steps — about what comes after all of this — I can’t help but feel incredibly grateful for Paul.
Paul is amazing. His passion is cooking, and honestly, you can see that in everything he does. He is incredibly hard working, steady, and he believes in me — and in Nab — with his whole heart. He’s taken on the challenge of looking after an incredibly old building with commitment, humour, and patience, and he has risen to every single practical task that Nab has thrown at him,
And after the chaos of raising five children together, he’s found something here too — the peace, the quiet, the space to breathe. Nab gives him that. And he treasures it. Izzy summed it up perfectly the other day when she said, “Paul’s love language is food.”
And honestly… that says everything. He nurtures, he supports, he cares — through what he creates, through what he builds, and through how he shows up for the people he loves. For me, having him by my side as we move into this next chapter means everything
And — this is my vision. To bring all of this together, the learning, the grounding, the love, the people, the strength, the legacy… To create the next path and the next part of the journey for all of us. A journey shaped by connection, by growth, by honesty, and by the belief that we are creating something meaningful — not just for ourselves, but for the generations to come.❤️❤️❤️
