๐ŸŽ‰ GCSE & Level 2 RESULTS DAY 2026! ๐ŸŽ‰

Today weโ€™re celebrating our fantastic Year 11 students at James Calvert Spence College as they receive their GCSE and Level 2 results! We are incredibly proud of the hard work, resilience and determination shown by our students throughout their secondary school journey.

From Sixth Form and college to apprenticeships, vocational courses and employment, our students are now heading off in a wide range of exciting directions.

Today is about celebrating every student and their individual achievements. Whatever their next step, we wish our Year 11 cohort every success as they begin this exciting new chapter.

A selection of the achievements noted below:

A huge congratulations to Isla, who amongst all of her brilliant grades achieved an outstanding Grade 9 in English Literature - putting her in to the top 5% in the country.

Theo was โ€œbuzzingโ€ with his results, particularly his Grade 7 in Maths, which he will return to study further in sixth form; and was straight off to work in his painting and decorating gear after collecting his results!

Libby made staff and her family super proud with excellent grades and was awarded an impressive Grade 8 in English Literature.

There was an extra-special celebration for Amelia, who turned 18 today and also received the news that she had passed her GCSE English resit. Sheโ€™ll be returning to school in September to complete her A Levels.

A huge thank you to our staff and families for the support they have given our young people throughout their journey.

Congratulations, Year 11 โ€“ we are incredibly proud of you! ๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ‘

๐ŸŽ‰ A huge congratulations to our JCSC Class of 2026! ๐ŸŽ‰

Today, our Year 13 students celebrated their A Level and Level 3 results, and we are incredibly proud to share that every student has secured a destination that reflects their ambitions, whether that's university, employment, apprenticeship or a chosen career pathway.

Headteacher, Mr Andriot, said: "Today is a hugely proud moment for our students, their families and the staff who have supported them throughout their time at JCSC. What makes today particularly special is knowing that every one of our Year 13 students has a destination ahead of them that reflects their ambitions and what they have being working towards.

This is a cohort that is incredibly well loved by our staff and the wider school community. They are individually interesting, talented and, above all, genuinely good people. We are absolutely delighted by what they have achieved and emotional to see them reach this milestone."

๐Ÿ‘ We could not be prouder of everything our class of 2026 has achieved and wish them every success in their next chapter.

๐Ÿ“ธ JCSC Annual Awards Celebration Evening 2026 ๐Ÿ†โœจ

What a fantastic evening celebrating the achievements, character and potential of our incredible young people at our Annual Awards Celebration Evening.

From recognising outstanding achievement and progress to celebrating kindness, resilience and leadership, it was a privilege to honour so many students who embody our school values of Be Kind, Work Hard and Aim High.

A huge thank you to our special guests, Anne Gouldthorpe, Professor Mike Wyllie and former student and BBC journalist Molly Smith, for presenting awards and sharing such inspiring messages with our students and families.

The evening was made even more memorable with our highlights video looking back on the year, celebrating exciting developments for our school, and remembering our much-loved colleague Wendy Young, whose kindness and dedication continue to be felt throughout our community.

Congratulations to all award winners, nominees and every student who has contributed to another successful year at JCSC. We are incredibly proud of you all. ๐Ÿ’™

*Update from our Headteacher, Mr Andriot, to parents/carers regarding access to the school via the Welfare* :

"As members of our community may now be aware, Amble Development Trust (ADT) is currently installing a fence which will prevent access between the school and the Welfare pathway.

We agree that this route is the safest for pupils and we understand the concern that this causes for our parents and wider community.

In meetings earlier in the calendar year, the school made a commitment to pay for any ongoing future costs in terms of lighting. The school also made a commitment to grit the path during the winter months to ensure that the pathway is safe for school users.

However, concerns raised by ADT with Northumberland County Council (NCC) could not be resolved for the start of next academic year in September. We await a resolution to these concerns and believe that meetings between ADT and NCC have taken place. We are hopeful that once a resolution is reached, the pathway will be opened again.

In September, this will have an impact on how our pupils access and exit the current school site and it will also have an impact on bus drop off once we move into our new site. ADT made the school and NCC aware of their intention to erect a fence shortly before the summer holidays. We have provided all pupils with road safety assemblies and we have walked our new intake of Year 7 pupils along Acklington Road as part of their transition days; we wanted to ensure that they can use the route safely. In addition to this, we have temporarily adapted staff duty rotas to support pupils into school via this different route.

We hope that any concerns can be resolved soon and that we can return to using the pathway on the Welfare throughfare as we have done, without incident, for many years."
