Story baskets support the children’s development as they foster early literacy skills and cognitive skills through hands on exploration. Story baskets support children to bring stories to life through using tangible objects this supports them to develop attention span, emotional development and enhance memory skills.

What a start to our building challenge that is taking place in one of the rooms. The children are eager to see whose tower will have the most bricks. Of course we are keeping track by using charts to help support our numeracy skills and ability to analyse data.

😋🍫☕️Hot chocolate season☕️🍫😋

This week some of the children have been getting stuck in to making all sorts of delicious drinks in our hot chocolate exploratory play. The children enjoyed pouring, mixing and stirring all the different elements together. Some of the children even pretended this area was a cafe where they role played as a barista serving drinks to their peers. This area has been very popular in the room and the children continue to spend lots of time here.

The children have been creating some life like drawings of a face to use as a model to develop their creativity through the use of makeup. This has been a firm favourite at our art table this week as they explored the different finishes the eyeshadow left behind as they made all sorts of marks using brushes and of course our fingers!
