Does it matter who teaches your child? 🩰✨
We believe it matters more than you might think.
When there are so many dance schools, classes and activities to choose from, finding the right one for your child can feel like a big decision.
But alongside what your child will learn, have you ever thought about who will be teaching them?
At Sharon Phillips School of Dancing, we’re incredibly proud that all of our teachers are either fully qualified or currently training through the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) — one of the world’s leading dance teaching organisations.
For us, being qualified is about so much more than having a certificate.
It represents years of learning, training and dedication. It means understanding not only how to dance, but how to teach dance well.
Our teachers are trained to:
✨ Teach technique correctly and safely
✨ Adapt lessons to suit different ages and abilities
✨ Encourage children and help them grow in confidence
✨ Understand how children learn and develop
✨ Create a positive environment where children can thrive
✨ Inspire a genuine love of dance
✨ Continue developing their own knowledge and teaching skills
And our teachers never stop learning. We believe continuing professional development is an important part of being a great teacher.
Every child is different, and every child deserves a teacher who can recognise that — someone who is knowledgeable, supportive, encouraging and passionate about helping them reach their potential. ❤️
Because dance is about so much more than learning steps.
It’s about confidence, creativity, discipline, friendships, self-expression and discovering a love of movement that can last a lifetime.
So, when choosing a dance school for your child, perhaps one of the most important questions to ask is:
“Who is teaching my child?”
For us, the answer really matters. ❤️🩰
And it’s something we’re very proud of. 📣✨
