Your voice doesn’t need to feel the same every day.
Some days singing feels easy. Everything seems to coordinate, the notes are there and your voice does roughly what you ask of it.
Other days… not so much.
Sleep, stress, hormones, illness, how much you’ve been speaking, what you’ve been doing physically and plenty of other things can all affect how your voice feels on a particular day.
That doesn’t automatically mean there’s something wrong with your voice.
One of the most useful things we can learn as singers is to notice what our voice is doing today, rather than immediately comparing it with what it did yesterday.
Maybe today you need a little longer to warm up.
Maybe something needs adjusting.
Maybe today isn’t the day to push for that note just because you could sing it easily last week.
A flexible voice isn’t necessarily a voice that behaves exactly the same every single day.
It’s also about learning how to work with the voice you have in front of you today.
