A lovely Winter walk on a frosty morning exploring around our beautiful countryside. ❄️⛸🌳

The children have been learning the real meaning of Christmas at preschool.
We read the book of The First Christmas and talked about everything we know about this special time of the year. 🎄

A time to teach our children the importance of kindness and giving, as Christmas is not all about receiving gifts. 💕

Using maps, the children looked at where they live and found Bethlehem. 🗺

We have looked at costumes, animals, people and occupations, as we share the story of Baby Jesus. 👶🏻

We have learnt both traditional and modern songs such as Away in a Manger and Alice the Camel. 🐪

Next week the children will be performing their own Nativity at preschool as we celebrate Christmas together. One little boy has asked to be a Gecko in the play as they live in hot places like the desert. 🏜

What a fantastic idea - a Rowney Green original performance of the Nativity with our very own gecko in the stable with the other animals. 👏🏻

It’s time to learn about Space. 🪐✨

The children have enjoyed learning all about space this week, with fun role plays, as we climbed aboard our space shuttle and visited the moon. 🌙

They transformed into astronauts, floating around to meet aliens and space robots. The children took giant, slow steps as they moved on the bumpy surface of the moon.

On their space walk they saw twinkling, bright stars and whizzing rockets. One child even shouted out “watch out for meteoroids.” 🚀

They learnt the names of planets in the solar system and lots of new vocabulary from our space theme. They practised their creative and cutting skills, working together to make giant robots and a space shuttle.

We also looked at shapes and patterns around us, as the children made their own pattern pictures using sponge blocks. 🔴🟦🟡🟧

Rowney Green Pre-school Sports Day!🏅🎉🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏼

Thank you to everyone that came along to watch and cheer along the children. They were all amazing. 👏🏻

We had a fantastic morning and it was great to see so many parents/carers participating too! 🤣

We all had a lovely day at Wythall Transport Museum, learning about the history of a variety of modes of transport. 🚌

The children enjoyed a ride on the miniature railway and cheered with delight travelling through the tunnels. 🚂

A fantastic trip full of role play activities from driving buses, milk floats, bread vans and a fire engine, to clocking in for work and buying bus tickets.
