Some lovely experiments inspired by the Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock prints we saw at the wonderful Beneath the Wave exhibition at The Whitworth. It has been so enjoyable to learn all about this unique period of art history and understand its impact on western artists. Studies in paint, ink and print exploring the delicate use of line, layering of colour and unbelievable detail!

H E D G E R O W This was an absolute pleasure to teach! 🍂 We explored drawing, painting and printmaking to create mixed media outcomes, taking time to plan different compositions. It was really lovely to slow down, do some research and experiment to find the best route for each project. Beautiful!

Next Saturday 18th July I will be back in the tipis teaching a quink ink workshop! This workshop is a great intro to mixed media and if you are a beginner it’s a lovely way to start drawing loosely and with confidence 🎨

N E W workshop coming up next week! I’m delighted to be taking part in Didsbury Arts Festival this year and will be running an embossing workshop at Corner and Bloom - Didsbury in Didsbury on Tuesday 30th June, 6-8pm. This is a lovely process inspired by my time at Didsbury Parsonage and is enjoyable and easy to learn! There are just a few tickets left and lots of other workshops and events happening so check it out!
