📺⚽ BTH on ITV News! ⚽📺

Last night, Blessed Thomas Holford Catholic College was featured on ITV News as part of a report highlighting the growing popularity of Gaelic football across the UK.

The feature explored how hundreds of schools and clubs are now taking part in Gaelic games, and we were proud to showcase the fantastic opportunities available to our students here at BTH.

Our students spoke brilliantly about their experiences of playing Gaelic football, demonstrating the skill, teamwork and commitment that the sport develops. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and talent recognised on a national platform.

We are incredibly proud of our Gaelic football programme and the strong links we have built within the Gaelic games community. Opportunities such as these continue to inspire our students to get involved, stay active and represent the College with pride.

A huge well done to all of the students and Mr Goldrick involved in the filming and to everyone who continues to support Gaelic football at BTH.

💙💛

⛰️ The Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge – Just 2 Days to Go! ⛰️

In just 2 days' time, a team of 13 staff members from BTH will be taking on the incredible challenge of completing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks.

That's 26 miles of walking, climbing the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, all within a demanding 12-hour time limit! 🥾

This challenge is not only a test of endurance, determination and teamwork, but also an opportunity to raise money for a fantastic cause. We are fundraising for Caritas, supporting the vital work of St Aidan's Centre in Wythenshawe, which provides practical help, support and hope to some of the most vulnerable members of our local community.

Every mile we walk will be with this cause in mind, and we would be incredibly grateful for any support you can give. No donation is too small – every contribution will make a difference.

💙 If you would like to sponsor us, donations can be made via ScoPay.

Thank you for your support, encouragement and generosity. Please keep an eye on our social media channels for updates from the day as we take on the challenge!

As the Y11 and Y13's journey with us draws to a close, we warmly invite our Year 11 and Year 13 parents to join our school community for a special Thanksgiving Mass, giving thanks to God for the many blessings, achievements, and memories shared throughout their time at school.

The Mass will take place on Tuesday 23rd June at 6:00pm

This will be a wonderful opportunity for us to come together in prayer and gratitude, celebrating all that our pupils have accomplished and entrusting them to God's care as they prepare for the next stage of their education.

We very much hope that you will be able to join us for this special occasion as we celebrate and give thanks together as a school family.

🥾⛰️ In just 8 days, 13 members of BTH staff will be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for Caritas!

That's 26 miles of walking and three challenging peaks to conquer all within 12 hours... eeek! 😬

To prepare, 7 of us tackled Whernside (the highest of the three peaks) on Sunday. It was definitely a challenge, but we were kept going by Miss Akintoye's amazing homemade banana and walnut cake! 🍌🍰

We're taking on this challenge to raise funds for Caritas and would be incredibly grateful for any support. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference.

💙 Donations can be made via SCOPAY.

Thank you for your support and wish us luck! 💪🥾

PE Extra Curricular Timetable for June and July

Year 10 trip was to two University of Manchester sites, they visited the John Rylands library and looked into their archives, particularly collections on young people's lives in Manchester over the years. They then visited the AIU Race Relations centre in the Central Reference Library where students examined archives to do with local stories and communities, and made anti-racist badges. Students found out about future career opportunities and university life talking to some University of Manchester students throughout the day. Y10 were brilliant and really enjoyed themselves!
