💙 Raising Boys for Life 💙
A recent BBC interview with Sir Gareth Southgate has sparked an important conversation about the education and development of boys.
Sir Gareth suggested that to get the very best from young people, schools should recognise that boys and girls may sometimes benefit from different approaches to education and development.
As he explained:
"I think anybody that's worked with either s*x at a younger age knows there are some fundamental differences."
Sir Gareth Southgate
At Altrincham Preparatory School, understanding how boys learn, grow and thrive has always been at the heart of the school's approach.
Boys flourish when they are encouraged to be curious, challenged to achieve their best and supported to develop confidence, resilience and character.
"At APS, we believe boys thrive when they are known as individuals, inspired to be curious and supported with kindness. Education is about developing character and confidence alongside academic excellence, helping every boy become the very best version of himself."
Mr Nick Vernon, Headmaster
In a rapidly changing world, helping boys develop a strong sense of purpose, self-belief and belonging has never been more important.
