GREAT TASTE AWARD-WINNING BASQUE CHEESECAKE 🤍

The last instalment in our Great Taste series - our Basque cheesecake 🙌 and this is definitely a case of last but by no means least...

Our Basque is another bake we've been doing since the very early days - head pastry chef Laura introduced it as a special, not thinking too much of it - but the crowds went WILD and so it had to stay 😂

This is what the judges said:

"A visually stunning Basque cheesecake with a rustic homemade appearance, this is creamy and tangy with a well-judged level of sweetness.

"A very tempting looking Basque cheesecake, this has a deeply burnished top... a good example of its kind... enjoyed the richness of the cheese and the flavour lent by the burning of the top."

Available by the slice and whole - a stunning addition to a party table or a great gift 🥰

Low gluten - contains no gluten products but made in a gluten environment 🙏

AWARD-WINNING CLASSIC WHITE SOURDOUGH 🍞

We were incredibly proud to learn recently that we'd been awarded three Great Taste Awards 🙌

One of those awards was for our Classic White sourdough - already a silver medal winning entrant in Britain's Best Loaf 2026 (Plain Sourdough category) ✨️

We're especially proud that our loaf was one of only *eight* white sourdoughs awarded a Great Taste Award in 2026 - 15,038 products were judged across all categories, and only 41% achieved an award 🤯

We're also proud that we received this award for our plain sourdough. With such a simple recipe, there's nowhere to hide - just flour, water, salt, our starter, time and craftsmanship 🫶

Judges comments:

"...impressive... beautifully slashed and risen, crunchy upper crust and well baked base. The crumb is wonderfully aerated and resilient to the touch and palate. The contrast between crust and crumb is delightfully differentiated. The gentle tang of the crumb relays sound depth of flavour..."

"...aesthetically beautiful... good ear... appealing open crumb. The crust is nutty and chewy, the crumb open and airy to the right degree."

Traditionally braided and often enjoyed on Fridays for Shabbat and special occasions, it’s the perfect bread for tearing, sharing, and dipping 🥖

We bake challah every Friday - two sizes available, regular & large. It's pretty irresistible, especially fresh from the oven 🤤
