We had a lovely couple of weeks away as a family.
The kids had a brilliant time. We switched off. We enjoyed ourselves.
Then we got home, the car failed its MOT, and suddenly we were facing hundreds of pounds in repairs.
Money was already tight.
And I need that car for work.
My first reaction?
For f**k’s sake.
When something unexpected happens, it is rarely about that one thing.
It is the pressure. The timing. The feeling that every time you start to get ahead, something else comes along.
Your mind starts asking:
How are we going to pay for this?
Why does this keep happening?
What am I doing wrong?
What I am reminding myself is that trust is not pretending everything is fine.
It is not forcing yourself to find a positive in every difficult moment.
Sometimes something is s**t.
And you have permission to say that.
Trust is facing what is happening without letting it convince you that everything is falling apart.
We will work it out.
We will make some decisions.
We will support each other.
And tomorrow, we keep moving.
What happens inside you when life suddenly puts pressure on the plans you were making?
Let me know in the comments.
