GCSE Results Day 2026 ✨

It was a proud day for Altrincham College students as their hard work was rewarded.

Our students celebrated another year of excellent GCSE results, with the number of top grades awarded at 9-7 up on last year. These results highlight strong achievement across all subjects.

Mr Keegan said:
“These results are a wonderful achievement for our students who have shown such resilience, commitment and a determination to succeed. We are also delighted that these outcomes follow our recent Ofsted success, providing further evidence of the exceptional work taking place across our school. On behalf of staff, I would like to congratulate all students on their achievements, and we wish them every success in the future.”

Students collecting their results this morning spoke of their excitement and relief.

There were double celebrations for Emilia and her twin sister Victoria, who both achieved an impressive set of GCSE results, gaining an incredible 12 grade 9s between them. Emilia said, “I was really stressed but all my hard work has paid off. I am shocked at how well I did.”

Several students also achieved exceptional individual results, including Neel, who achieved four grade 9s and five grade 8s. He said, “I am so happy, as I did much better than I thought.” and Eva who achieved five grade 9s, two grade 8s and 2 grade 7s, said, “I feel great!”

Many students will now progress to our Sixth Form to commence A Level and vocational courses in September. A huge congratulations to our Year 13 students - Class of 2026!

They celebrated an outstanding set of A Level and vocational results today, which are the sixth form’s best results to-date in terms of student progress.

Mr Keegan said, “It’s been a fantastic morning celebrating with our Year 13 students and wonderful to see so many happy faces. These outstanding results are testament to the hard work, determination and dedication of students and staff, and they continue to place us among the top 25% of sixth forms and colleges nationally. This achievement comes shortly after our recent Ofsted inspection where our Sixth Form was judged to be of ‘Strong’ standard, making today’s results even more rewarding for Altrincham College Sixth Form.”

Head of Sixth Form, Mr Mahmood, added: “I am thrilled with this year’s results and could not be prouder of our students. They have shown remarkable resilience over the last two years, particularly throughout the exam period. Whilst it is always sad to say goodbye, we are excited to see what the future holds for them as they move on to a wide range of fantastic opportunities, including university, degree apprenticeships and gap years. We wish them every success.”

Student Theo, who achieved grades A*A*A in A Level History, Law and Business, said he was “really pleased” that he surpassed the grades required for his first-choice university, University of Leeds, where he will study Law. Jacob, who has accepted a place at the University of Edinburgh to study English and Linguistics said, “I couldn’t have been happier."

Whilst we celebrate academic success, we are equally proud of all our students, particularly those who have persevered and overcome challenges to get to where they are today.

Year 8 student Chloe D wrote this poem to celebrate 60 years of Altrincham College. Sarthak, in year 9, a talented pianist, was then asked to compose a special piece of music to accompany Chloe's poem. Together, the poem and music create a powerful homage to 60 years of Altrincham College.

AC60 LIVE!✌️

Altrincham College turned 60 this year and our birthday celebrations culminated today with a vibrant 1960s themed festival (AC60 LIVE) on the school field, bringing together students and staff for an afternoon of fun and celebration!

The event featured inflatables, face painting and live music performances from the school's talented current and former students, creating a memorable occasion for the entire school community.
