Learning Beyond the Nursery Walls
Our children don't just learn in the nursery, they explore, discover and belong right here in their community. We believe that stepping beyond our doors opens up a world of possibility. Local trips aren't just outings; they're where children develop confidence, curiosity and a real sense of place.
This week, our children headed to Stamford Park as part of our Love to Read programme. They settled in amongst the autumn leaves to listen to stories in the outdoor environment, then hunt for treasures as part of a fun autumn scavenger hunt. It's reading brought to life, imagination sparked by real trees, real pathways, real discovery.
When children explore their local community, they're building so much more than memories. They're learning to navigate the world with confidence, developing an understanding of where they belong, and discovering that learning happens everywhere, not just indoors. Stories sound different under open sky. Autumn feels different when you're in it, finding conkers and chasing leaves.
This is what matters in the early years, connection to place, curiosity about the world around them, and the confidence that comes from being brave enough to explore.
Come and see how we do things differently at Ivy House. We'd love to meet you and show you around. 🌿
