🍕 Pizza Making Fun! 🍕

The children have been busy making their own pizzas!

They carefully used a range of tools, including knives and a blender, to prepare their ingredients. The children took their time, followed instructions and showed great care and confidence when using the equipment safely.

💙 Celebrating Father's Day 💙

This week we were delighted to welcome our dads and other special father figures into nursery to celebrate Father's Day with us.

The children were excited to spend time together, taking part in a variety of activities, exploring the provision and sharing their favourite stories.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special. We hope you all enjoyed spending this quality time together and creating wonderful memories.

🚲 World Bicycle Day 🚲

Our children took part in a special woodwork session where they used real tools to design and build their very own wooden bikes. With guidance and care, they measured, shaped, and assembled each piece, learning practical skills while growing in confidence and creativity.

It was wonderful to see their focus, teamwork, and pride as their ideas came to life. More than just making bikes, they were building independence, resilience, and a sense of achievement.

A fantastic way to honour the spirit of cycling—through craftsmanship, imagination, and a lot of enthusiasm!

🦋 Butterfly release 🦋

The children had the most incredible experience watching nature unfold right before their eyes — from tiny caterpillars, to delicate chrysalises, and finally into beautiful butterflies.
As the butterflies took their first flight a few of them gently landed on the children, resting on their hands, shoulders, and even their noses! The giggles, smiles, and wide-eyed wonder said it all.

It was a beautiful reminder of how magical the natural world can be, and how these small moments can create memories that last a lifetime.
A day filled with curiosity, joy, and a little bit of butterfly magic.

🐦 Juvenile Blue Tit 🐦

The children discovered a tiny juvenile Blue Tit who had taken a tumble while learning to fly. Together, we gently cared for the little one, observing it closely, talking about what it might need, and making sure it felt safe and calm before carefully reuniting it with its mummy in our birdhouse.

This special, hands-on experience gave the children so many valuable learning opportunities—from understanding how birds grow and develop, to learning patience, responsibility, and how to respond thoughtfully in unexpected situations. Most importantly, it encouraged them to be gentle, kind, and caring towards living things.

Moments like these help nurture not just curiosity, but compassion too.

🌿 Eco-Schools Award – Achieved with Distinction! 🏅

We are absolutely delighted to share that our nursery has achieved the Eco-Schools Award with Distinction!

This wonderful achievement reflects the enthusiasm, curiosity, and amazing efforts of our little learners, alongside the dedication of our staff and families. Together, we’ve been exploring how to care for our environment in simple, meaningful ways — from recycling and reducing waste to learning about nature and making greener choices in our everyday routines.

A huge thank you to everyone involved for supporting our eco journey and helping to nurture such brilliant early awareness of looking after our planet.

We are so proud of what we’ve achieved together and look forward to continuing to grow our eco learning every day!

🌱 Mental Health Awareness Week 🌱

This week we proudly acknowledged Mental Health Awareness Week by creating our very own Woodland Wellbeing Spa.

The children enjoyed relaxing foot spas, calming massage stations and refreshing fresh lemon water in our peaceful spa environment. Alongside the fun and relaxation, we used this opportunity to explore what mental health is, learn regulation techniques, build emotional literacy and encourage open conversations about feelings and wellbeing.

A wonderful way to remind ourselves that looking after our minds is just as important as looking after our bodies.

🐻 Storytelling in the Forest 🐻

This week our rabbits and hedgehogs brought the much-loved story 'We’re Going on a Bear Hunt' to life during a wonderful visit to the local forest!

The children explored the outdoors using their imaginations as we ventured through the woods together, just like in the story. Along the way, they developed their physical skills by climbing, balancing and carefully navigating across fallen trees, helping to build their confidence, coordination and strength.

The children loved discovering the different sights, sounds and textures of the forest while enjoying fresh air and plenty of adventure with their friends.
