Over the summer, our staff stepped up as 'Reading Role Models' by diving into top Young Adult fiction. They’ve created review posters and are sharing their top recommendations with students.

We've created a library display to show students what their teachers have loved reading. We'd like to encourage students to stop by to check out the staff review posters, grab a recommendation, and get inspired to pick up their next favourite book

A very warm welcome to all our new Year 7 students on their first day at Amery Hill School!

It has been a fantastic day, filled with new beginnings and new friendships. It was great to see so many smiling faces and we have been so impressed with how well they all navigated their new timetables and found their way around the school today.

We're looking forward to welcoming our new Year 7 students on Thursday 3 September for an 8:35am start. This is a day dedicated to helping our new students settle in. Please assemble on the netball courts at the back of school. Lunch will be provided (no charge) for all Year 7 students on their first day.

Celebrating the brilliant achievements of the Amery Hill School Class of 2026 today!

Our students’ fantastic GCSE performance is a direct reflection of their hard work, resilience, and unwavering support for one another. More than just high achievers, this cohort has shaped our school environment through genuine compassion, strong community spirit, and shared vision.

These amazing students, who joined Amery Hill as ‘fresh-faced’ Year 7s five years ago, have lived out our mission of ‘Education for Life’, and faced their challenges head-on. They have emerged as confident, ready-for-anything, leaders of tomorrow.

As they take their next steps into college campuses, apprenticeships, and career pathways, we are certain they will continue to thrive with purpose.

Year 8 Food Technology students had a brilliant time with this week's practical task: crafting chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. There was a real buzz in the food rooms as students discovered the secret to making safe to eat, edible cookie dough. With the summer weather so incredibly hot, it was the perfect excuse to cool down with a homemade frozen treat.

Beyond the tasty results, these lessons were a great opportunity for the class to develop their whisking and creaming techniques. Students mastered new skills, learning how to balance textures and flavours with this no churn cheats ice cream. It was a sweet success that combined scientific learning with a fun, seasonal reward.

Amery Hill School is a welcoming and supportive learning community where all students are encouraged to become independent, creative, active and resilient learners with the empathy to respond responsibly and morally to the challenges of this ever-changing world.

We are recruiting for Learning Support Assistants to join our thriving Student Hub Team, to support students in-class as well as in a range of small group or individual interventions. At Amery Hill we support students with a variety of additional needs, including those with learning difficulties and/or physical disabilities, to ensure all are able to achieve their full potential.

These reading superstars have officially conquered the school library, racking up a jaw-dropping 416 book loans between them! That is some serious page-turning dedication!

To celebrate their amazing achievement:
- Our overall top reader took home a special prize

- All of our top 10 champions received a well-deserved certificate and some sweet treats to celebrate their hard work!

Well done to the many students who came incredibly close to making the top 10 - keep reading, you are right on their heels for next year!
