Year 6, thank you for being amazing! What a lovely last day at Anstey, we had a beautiful assembly this morning. Made memories with friends and had a wonderful leaving celebration at the end of the day full of family, staff and friends - the rest of the school had even decorated the footpath for you!
Remember to always aim high, no limits. We are so proud of you all. ⭐️

Year 3 were bursting with creativity at Forest School today! They showed fantastic imagination as they crafted fishing rods, bows, spinning tops and woodland people, while others became absorbed in den building and experimenting with drainpipe shoots.

It was wonderful to see some children really step up as leaders, confidently showing others how to tie knots and bringing our Forest School ethos of learn one, do one, teach one to life. Sharing skills, encouraging one another and learning together is such a powerful part of the experience.

We also discovered a wood pigeon egg, sparking plenty of curiosity and respectful discussion about the wildlife that shares our woodland. Another session full of creativity, collaboration and discovery.

Year 5 had a fantastic Forest School session today! They explored the big loose parts, played an epic game of camouflage, created some very tempting mud brownies, and relaxed in the hammocks.

Along the way they worked together brilliantly, continuing to develop their teamwork, negotiation and listening skills, while practising patience and learning to value each other’s ideas. So much learning wrapped up in play!

Year 4 and Year 6 embraced everything Forest School had to offer today. There was tree climbing, relaxing in the hammocks, imaginative role play, den building, pulley systems, nature crafts, games, and plenty of opportunities to practise knife and saw skills safely and responsibly.

The mud kitchen was as busy as ever, serving up blackberry mud cheesecakes, pies and all sorts of delicious woodland creations! 🍰🥧

What stood out most, though, was the kindness shown throughout the day. Children helping one another, encouraging friends to try something new, sharing ideas, and working together to solve problems. These moments are every bit as important as the activities themselves and are what make Forest School such a special place to learn and grow.

A fantastic day full of creativity, confidence, laughter and connection with nature. 🌳❤️🌳
