Next week we are beginning an exciting new venture - Binsted CE Primary School’s own gardening club!

This will happen during school time on Tuesday afternoons. The children will all get to come along to a 30 minute session every two weeks. The club is being run by volunteers - if parents or grandparents would like to volunteer an afternoon or more you would be very welcome - please let Mrs Lucas know.

We are looking for donations of hand trowels and forks (children’s or adult sized), gloves, watering cans, spare seeds or plants and compost and would be very grateful for any of these.

Start your child's Eggar's journey with our fun and welcoming Discover Eggar's workshops - we have something for everyone to enjoy!

▪️WED 4 JUNE - 16:00-17:15: EMOJI BISCUITS

COOKING: Learn to bake yummy sugar cookies and then decorate them with your favourite emojis in icing.

▪️MON 23 JUNE - 16:00-17:15: DISCOVER SAMBA

MUSIC: Learn to play the instruments of the street carnival music of Brazil and put together an exhilarating performance!

▪️THUR 10 JULY - 16:00-17:15: IS IT AN ACID? OR IS IT AN ALKALI?

SCIENCE: Why do some foods and sweets taste sour? Why do soaps feel ‘soapy’? Explore different chemicals to see if they are acid or alkali.

▪️WED 17 SEPT - 16:00-17:15: MINECRAFT: THE FINAL MISSION

COMPUTER SCIENCE: The Eggar’s House team needs you. Come along and share your skill in building and mining on the Eggar’s site.

▪️THUR 2 OCT - 16:00-17:30: BRIDGE BUILDING

D&T: Design and make a bridge to span a cavern. Bridges will be tested for their strength.

All students are welcome from 15:45 for a 16:00 start. Parents to return at 17:15 to enjoy some refreshments and share what their child has discovered. We also welcome parents to ask for a tour of the school when they drop off or return. We look forward to giving you our warm Eggar’s welcome!

Thank you so much to everyone who attended our first ever Eco Fair on Friday. We raised a massive £362 for outdoor learning equipment!

Thank you also to all the parents and helpers who supported Eco club to make it a success.

We had a wonderful day remembering VE Day and the end of WW2.

Each class performed a different 1940’s dance and the children enjoyed a cream tea. There were also a wonderful selection of artefact’s to browse in our museum.

Thank you to the Binsted children and team for making the day so memorable.

Fantastic Opportunity for Year 4, 5 & 6 Students!

CALLING ALL PARENTS OF YEAR 4, 5 & 6! 📣

Following our hugely successful Year 4,5 & 6 Discover Minecraft workshop in the Autumn, we are delighted to share that our Computer Science department will be running another session in January!

It has been a busy week at Binsted School! Our Rowan class visited Stubbs Farm to talk about harvest and saw a real life combine harvester! Beech class visited Alton flood meadows as part of their river topic. Thank you to Stubbs Farm and the volunteers from Alton and Villages Local Action for Nature. 😊
