What a day we’ve had there at Lawton Road as we get ready to support England once again.

Today the rooms have took on our penalty shootout out competition with extra points for flags, England clothing, chanting and singing!

What’s your prediction for tonight’s score??? Stay turned for our score reveal tomorrow to which room scored the highest penalty goals!

Thank you to all our wonderful children, parents, practitioner and beyond for joining us today to parade Alsager.

As always everyone went above and beyond from famously costumes, decorated pushchairs, displays and attendance!! Without our families we are nothing and today in full force you attended to support our wonderful nursery!!

✏️Getting Ready for School📚

Lawton Road preschool parents have attended our school readiness evening held at both settings.

The transition from nursery to school can be a challenging experience, but we create strong partnerships with schools to ensure our children and parents are ready for the next step. It is so important that children and their parents are equally prepared for school.

The points covered in tonight’s evening were:

✏️How the team support children’s development in preparation for school and how we lead activities and enhance the room to support school readiness such as self-service, role play experiences and letters and sounds

⚽️PE Kit days that are being held and dates will be given out

📚Reading diaries and how they are used to support early reading and writing

👩‍🏫👨‍🏫 The process of making links with the teachers and them coming to visit the children in setting

We also had a some uniforms displayed from the local school uniform shop alongside their leaflets and QR code for the website and pricing👕

To finish our evening, we held a letter and sounds and phonics workshop where our parents had a chance to explore what a letters and sounds and phonics session is like for their children in Preschool!🔤

We hope all of our parents that attended had a lovely evening and found it as informative as possible.

As today comes to an end it’s been an emotional one for Lawton Road as we’ve said farewell to our 1:1 support / Early years practitioner Charlotte Conner.

Words can’t describe the passion Lottie delivers daily for here SEN / 1:1 children through their needs, development and next steps Lottie forever puts the children at the heart of everything she does!!

As a setting we wish Lottie all the best in following her dream into a new SEN role!
