Throughly enjoyed adjudicating EPTA UK Piano Competition Regional Heat in Lancashire yesterday. There were some amazing performances from the young pianists! Congratulations to all the participants.

There will be some competitions happening locally in March organised by Love Music Trust and also Newcastle-under-Lyme Festival for Music, Speech & Drama. If any of my students are interested in entering, please let me know!

Young Musician Comp.

It was a fabulous afternoon working with the young pianists from prep schools at Shrewsbury School 🎹

I’m on my way back from a wonderful weekend in Warsaw, where I attended a couple sessions of the second stage of the Chopin International Competition. Ever since I became captivated by the live stream back in 2010, it has been my dream to witness it in person—to sit in that iconic hall, surrounded by its sound and atmosphere. Watching those young, extraordinarily gifted pianists give everything they have after years of devotion, revealing their true selves through their music, was deeply moving. I heard some breathtaking performances.

Congratulations to Henry for receiving the KS2 Music Award at his primary school for his piano playing. He's got a special trophy with a treble clef!
