A wonderful start to our final term with the BIGGEST Cottontails- children have embraced the inclement weather, finding it rather funny to be swapping wellies and coats for sunhats and suncream regularly!!
We have been talking about People Who Help Us, and will continue woth this topic this week.
We are also practising writing letters from our own names, in readiness for school π«
Please note: next Wednesday 10th June children will need to be collected from Alpington Primary at 3pm, and this will be our last visit until September π

What an awesome week of Science we have had!!ππ‘π«§π
We had great variety of crafts to help us discover colour mixing and colour dripping- magic rain being our favourite, using pippettes to drip water and watch what happened to our umbrella picturesπ π
We also had the Skittle Experiment, made rocket launchers, spinning snakes, blew bubbles into a bubble, Black pepper experiment, the exploding volcano, and we had amazing ideas when we did Sink or Float?! π
We are ready for a restful weekend!!
Next week is Story Week- children can bring in a cuddly toy (named please!) to join us on the story blanket. And if any parents would like to come and read their favourite story to the children, please speak to Steph or Lizzy to arrange a day and time ππ€

It has been a SUPER kind of week for Cottontails this week!
We have enjoyed creating our own Super Hero masks, sheilds and capes, and discussing what our Super Powers are- these included running, cuddling, playing, helping, tidying, busy, and Superman, of course!!
Children have visited the park and played on the BIG slide: learning to listen to adult instructions, taking turns, waiting patiently, and helping each other up the BIG steps :-)
Please remember, Cottontails is sadly closed next Thursday 7th May as our hall is being used as a Polling Station.

Welcome back Cottontails!!
Children have been so excited to tell us all about their Easter holidays and how many eggs they got, which have given them the energy to enjoy our lovely new sandpit in the garden!! The children have built the biggest sandcastles, made sand cakes and sand tea, and have been sharing the new toys and buckets spades with each otherπ
We are talking about Seasons this week and next- thinking about the first signs of spring and summer, what clothes we choose to wear during the year, and updating our weather calendar daily at Circle Time with our friends π§‘
We also have a wish list of items that will be up in the pink room from Tuesday. Thanks so much for your support.

What a Fruity kind of week we have had!! πππ«π₯πππ₯
Cottontails were very lucky to be joined by Rachael, the Community Champion from Harford Bridge Tesco this week. Rachael bought a selection of different fruits for the children to touch, smell and taste, including, mango, kiwi, blueberries, and kiwi fruit.
Children were encouraged to talk to each other about the fruit, and came up with some very descriptive words..... Squishy, spicy, spikey, smooth, furry, hairy, bumpy, yummy....... plus many more!!
Cottontails also tried a small experiment using black pepper and water, to see if they had washed their hands properly π Some children were excited to see the pepper disperse when they dipped their fingers in the bowl (meaning clean hands!) and some children were slightly disappointed when the pepper stayed put!!! Those children re-washed their hands and tried again with better results!! π§Ό π§
A very busy week has been had, learning all about healthy living and healthy foods, planting cress seeds, and choosing their own fruit to make DIY fruit salads π±π±
