Thank you very much to Breamish Hall Powburn for the table tennis table!
The children are thoroughly enjoying it at playtimes and in our after school club.

Our wonderful cook Rachel has decided to honor the England team's World Cup football schedule by introducing special menus.
Today the menu was all about tonight's England Vs Croatia game!
The children could try the opposition nation's cuisine, in this case, Croatian Burek(a cheese pastry) and Paprenjaci(a black pepper and spice cookie). These were served alongside traditional English dishes.
We believe this is a great way to learn about the world and to encourage the children to try new things.
Thank you, Rachel!

EXPANDED EYFS PROVISION- Consultation

The DFE are providing selected schools with an EYFS capital grant to fund expanded EYFS provision. We have been successful in our expression of interest with the local authority and now need to complete the formal DFE application.
The proposed separate, purpose built EYFS unit/wrap around space will be a new build on the school grounds.

As part of this process, we need to carry out a consultation to gauge the interest and need of our community. Therefore, your thoughts and opinions are really important.

Please complete this attached survey and pass it on to other members of our community and beyond who may need childcare provision for any child above 9 month+

We are hosting a consultation meeting on 8th July at 5pm. Please share this information with family and friends who may be interested.

Thank you

Foxes Class were so lucky to attend Make Active Memories at Alnwick Garden and The Alnwick Castle, run by Northumberland School Games on Friday.
We had such a wonderful day filled with sport, team building and memory making! Thank you to all involved for organising such a great event, and to all of the children in Foxes for being a pleasure to take out.

All children from Reception to Year 6 enjoyed visiting The Countryside Day at Glendale show ground today.
It was, as always, a fantastic, fun and fascinating day. Here are a few photos of Foxes Class.

Squirrels Class had a fantastic day at Cragside last week to supplement their work in history.
The children were so well-behaved and respectful when in the house. They were very interested in Lord Armstrong’s inventions and fascinated to see the hydraulic pump that made the lift and the roasting spit work.
In the afternoon they saw the Archimedes Screw, which is a more recent addition inspired by Armstrong’s work. They also went into the pump house to see a similar hydraulic pump to the one in the house, but this one was used to pump water which would then go on to generate energy for the electricity for the house.

On Wednesday 20th May it was National Numeracy Day and, as a school, we took part in the Big Maths Party.
Each class had different activities going on, which included sharing books with a maths theme, learning about the different jobs people do that involve maths, playing number sentence bingo and various maths games. Squirrels even made some big pictograms outside.
Rabbit Class also joined in with the math games and playing hide and seek to practice their counting (can you spot those tightly shut eyes!?).

When nature and technology come together.
The children used the Merlin App to help them identify birds in forest school, then they did some lovely drawing of the birds.
We noticed that the birdsong went quiet when it rained but then, when the sun came out, all the birds started singing again.
