This group of brave young people carried out out a planned scenario based on PLAN

Putting together the skills they'd practiced in phase one of the session.

Phase two

The scenario

The team were given a survival rescue scenario, independently find a suitable location, (in the western part of our woodland) using natural navigation, close to a hostile compond.

The team were then required to build a secure camp.
acquire equipment, resources for
shelter, set up a comms net,
make fire, cook food using improvised stoves, purify water.
Post sentries,
Send out intelligence gathering patrols using the
Petal Method: moving out from and returning to their central observation point in a flower-petal pattern.
Return undetected, analysis intelligence, then plan a hostage rescue mission.

Kids need more Bushcraft less Minecraft.

Feral forest fun

Wednesday 26th August
10-3pm

A chance to develop independent, problem solving skills, learn without realising it, build confidence while having feral fun in a non judgement environment.
Memories & friendships aren't made via an iPad

The session will be held in our fantastic woodland setting near Howick Hall Northumberland & is open to children of all abilities, between the age of 5 - 12
The session is drop & go, we ask all parents to be on site for drop off at 09.50am & pick up at 14.50 ten minutes before the session ends.

The day will consist of

Morning session

Assualt course
Teamwork & problem solving exercise.

Fire fundamentals & 🔥 basic bushcraft.
Learn a variety of fire building skills,
How to make &
manage fire using a variety of methods & techniques.

Afternoon

Woodcraft

Whittling
Learn how to whittle, from a basic toad stool, to an intricate wand 🪄 or you could really push yourself by carving a 🥄 spoon or bowl.
Or maybe try your hand at using a hammer, a variety of cutting tools. Try your hand at
building a bird 🐦 box, or just go with your imagination.

End of the day team game

The session costs £25 per child, however a group sibling discount.

You must provide your child/children with snacks a packed lunch & plenty of water or jucie.

Everything brought with your child must be taken away (food waste etc)

ALL parents will be asked to complete a consent form on arrival, which will include your contact details etc

All medication, epi pen etc must be sealed in clearly labelled clip type bag.

please dress for the outdoors, long trousers & NO SHORTS !!!!
Your child will get muddy, please pack extra clothing, towel etc and a water bottle

Please park in Howick Hall car park to save congestion
follow the signs behind the admission kiosk to find our site.

on site parking is only permitted with prior arrangement, or due to mobility problems

It was great to see our friend Katryna this morning dropping off her three children for our Wild & Resilient session.
Before Katryna found fame with the Hawkstone choir, who won this year's Britain's got talent, we worked together delivering Camp together, Camping & activity sessions for SEND families.
We would like to wish Katryna & the Hawkstone choir the best of luck with their new album which will be released in October.
