The Scottish Government are consulting on mobile phone use in schools. Please see the attached information to share your views.

Schools must be a safe environment for all pupils.

Phones can have a harmful effect on pupils' education and wellbeing.

That is why we're asking pupils, families and school staff to share their views on restricting phone use in schools.

βœ‚οΈπŸŽ’ FREE BACK-TO-SCHOOL HAIRCUTS πŸŽ’βœ‚οΈ

We know how quickly the costs add up when getting the kids ready to head back to school or nursery, so we wanted to offer a little helping hand to families in our local community. ❀️

Using some of our unrestricted funds, we've teamed up with two lovely local hairdressers to offer 25 FREE children's haircuts at Mums the Word!

πŸ“… Thursday 6th August
⏰ From 9:30am
βœ‚οΈ Nursery age – P7

These will be basic back-to-school cuts, such as a trim or tidy-up.

πŸ“© 12 pre-bookable spaces message our page to secure your slot.
🚢 13 walk-in spaces first come, first served from 9:30am.

Please arrive with hair clean and brushed and check for head lice beforehand, as unfortunately a haircut cannot be carried out if head lice are present.

Haircuts are completely FREE. Donations to Mums the Word are very welcome if you're able, but there is absolutely no obligation. ❀️

25 haircuts. Two local hairdressers. One less back-to-school expense. βœ‚οΈπŸŽ’

Information about the Summer reading challenge at Alloa Library:

The reading challenge is run by The Reading Agency and is a huge part of the 'Go All In' reading initiative.

The challenge will be running in Alloa library at the Spiers Centre from 20th June until 8th August and is free to join for all children in Clackmannanshire. Families just need to go to the main desk and ask to join the challenge.

When children sign up, they will be given a pack which will contain a booklet full of activities and some that can be accessed digitally, a badge and a bookmark.

For each book that the child reads they collect a sticker to complete their activity books and on completion of the challenge they receive a medal and a certificate πŸ“– πŸ₯‡
